This is an extract from the newspaper entitled L’Illustration. It deals with the arrival of Americans, hence it is the name of the article « L’Arrivée des Americains ». It says that the first time American soldiers came to France was on June 26, 1917. Moreover, they deal with the time when Europeans went to the United States whereas that time, it was the opposite. It also mentions the « Atlantic Port » which was the Port that welcomed them in France. In fact it is St Nazaire.
Furthermore, the article concentrates on the first American contingent to put a foot on French soil and explains that later on the Atlantic Port would be associated to this prodigious event. That time, the migratory current no longer went from east to west but from west to east.
