To help students learn more about the labour market and broaden their horizons, we ask that employers, professionals and skilled workers engage with them to share their knowledge. This can come in the form of attenting one of our Future Fridays, Career Events, Lesson Participation or offering work insights (work experience, office tours, etc). We can even connect you with students for one-to-one discussions at a time to suit you!
Anyone who gets involved, automatically becomes part of Network Arden, providing us with the chance to thank everyone and professionals with the opportunity to network.
To get involved with any of our activities, or suggest one yourself, please complete our Employer/Employee Engagement Form...
Student talking 1:1, in person, with a pilot and architect
These sessions enable students to ask lots of questions and find out so much valuable information such as training costs, duration, perks of the job, skills required, pay, career progression, etc. Students can relax and really get into the nitty gritty asking questions like: what do you love/hate about your job? What made you become this? What qualifications do you have?...
Every Friday lunchtime we run sessions for students to attend career talks. These are informal talks where external people come in and talk about their jobs. Interested students are naturally engaged and always appreciative of the time taken to help inform their decision-making. We know Future Friday informs and inspires enough to guide a student towards, or away, from an education or career pathway. They don't know what they don't know so we always encourage students to attend, even if they are only a little bit curious!
All our contributors have enjoyed the experience and feel they are really making a difference.
Skilled professionals have also taken part in lessons, including catering, science, engineering and art. Students can understand, in real time, how their learning links to careers. Here we can see a disney illustrator working with art students...
Network Arden is a community of volunteers, employees and employers who work with Arden Futures to support our students in preparing for the world outside of Arden, both through developing the skills they will need, and giving them an awareness of the vast number of careers and pathways available to them.
This is through various events and activities, including assemblies, career talks and workshops. If you want to get involved and be invited to our networking event, please complete the form above to be added to our database.
