whenever you're ready

Five six seven eight.

I begin,

eloquently moving

          up

down

toward and away

from the sky above and the ground beneath,

I breathe

                       inhale

I spin

                       exhale

and the notes

roar.

I dance

let silent words steal my breath

and by the time

                     the last note

            chimes

the music has pierced my heart.

I finish

and behind me it lies beating

on the floor.
