Mandelbaum House is a residential college located within the university grounds close to the Sports & Aquatic Centre. Mandelbaum House provides housing in private bedrooms with your own basin. With only 38 residents (men and women), strong friendships are formed with Australian and fellow international residents. Common areas include a game room, lounge room, library, and rooftop area. Amenities also include laundry facilities and free rental bicycles which is popular among residents. An internet plan is also included.
Mandelbaum has a resident society who organise in-house events, social outings, and coordinate participation in intramural sport and art competitions. As a resident, you will have a meal plan (18 meals per week) with the flexibility to have a takeaway or a late meal. This gives you more time to study and explore Sydney as you don’t need to shop for groceries, cook, or clean. In keeping with Mandelbaum House’s Jewish heritage, all meals are kosher, but students of all backgrounds are welcomed.
Living at Mandelbaum is an excellent way to meet local students and to make the most of your time in Australia, but it is not for everyone. The application process for residential colleges is very competitive and placements are on a first-come, first-served basis.
