Finding Work

Try and get work early in the semester. You can work for 48 hours fortnightly.
If applying in person, drop off your resume and always ask to see a manager or supervisor on duty.
Check out university job boards (often near the student centre or sometimes available online).
Look on websites like seek.com.au, facebook market place, indeed.com
Look up hospitality and function centres as well as babysitting sites – they often have casual work.
You can also hand out your resume at the cafes.

Responsible Service Alcohol (RSA):

If you want to work in a place where alcohol is sold you will need to hold a RSA. RSA is a training program designed to educate individuals who work in venues where alcohol is served or sold, such as bars, clubs, restaurants and bottle shops. Teh primary goal of RSA training is to ensure that alcohol is served and sold responsibly, with the aim of preventing alcohol-related and prokmoting the wellbeing of patrons.

TAX FILE NUMBER (TAX):

A tax file number (TAX) is your personal referenc enumber in the tax and supperannuation systems. It is free to apply for a TFN. It is your unique number identifier (9 digits); an important part of your identity. You keep your TFN even if you change jobs or name, move interstate or go overseas.

Superannuation:

It is a term related to retirement savings and pension plans. Supperannuation is a system designed to help Australians save for their retirement. You will need one for you job and be able to take back the money when you leave the country.
