Video of how to attend an online appointment.
To make the most of your tutoring appointment(s), please:
Log into your Zoom appointment at least five minutes in advance.
Make sure you are in a space that is free of distraction.
Have everything you need to learn, including your book, notes, calculator.
Bring a list of questions you have about your assignments, or things you need to work on. You can leave a note for your tutor explaining what you would like to work on when making an appointment on TutorTrac.
Prepare to be distraction-free for the duration of your appointment, silencing or turning off your cell phone or online chat programs.
Let your tutor know what your goal is for the session by determining what concepts you would like to cover. Also consider what material you would like to review and practice.
Ask for tips on how to study for the class and actively take part in the session. Once you have worked through material with the tutor, do a practice problem on your own and explain your understanding to the tutor.
Your tutor can help clarify parts of the lecture or text, assist in solving problems, and work with you to find the answers. Your tutor cannot help with take-home exams.
