To make the most of your tutoring appointment(s), please:
Log into your Zoom appointment at least five minutes in advance.
Make sure you are in a space that is free of distraction.
Have everything you need to learn, including your book, notes, calculator.
Bring a list of questions you have about your assignments, or things you need to work on. You can leave a note for your tutor explaining what you would like to work on when making an appointment on WCOnline.
Prepare to be distraction-free for the duration of your appointment, silencing or turning off your cell phone or online chat programs.
On the day of your online appointment:
Log in to WCOnline and find your appointment block on the schedule.
The block should appear red for online appointments.
Click on your appointment block five to ten minutes before your session.
Once you have accessed your appointment, click on the "Start or Join Online Consultation" button.
Clicking this button will access your coach's Zoom link and launch your online appointment.
Once you have entered your coach's Zoom waiting room, they will be with you shortly to begin tutoring!
Let your tutor know what your goal is for the session by determining what concepts you would like to cover. Also consider what material you would like to review and practice.
Ask for tips on how to study for the class and actively take part in the session. Once you have worked through material with the tutor, do a practice problem on your own and explain your understanding to the tutor.
Your tutor can help clarify parts of the lecture or text, assist in solving problems, and work with you to find the answers. Your tutor cannot help with take-home exams.
