A quick disclaimer before talking about Add-Ons and Extensions. There are some Pros and Cons to them. The Pro is that many are designed to make life easier and there are some great tools that can make Google more productive. However, there is a con with them as well. Extensions and Add-Ons can possibly gather your private information or run malware on your computer. Here is a really helpful article to read before adding extensions or add-ons to chrome. https://bdtechtalks.com/2018/06/25/chrome-extension-safety-privacy-security/
Certify'Em is an Add on for Google Forms. After students take a quiz on a Google Form, they will automatically be emailed a congratulatory certificate.
1. Get the Certify'em add on.
2. Open Certify'em controls and turn on certification. Choose Custom Template.
3. Create a custom template in Google Slides and link the template to the Form. Determine the pass percentage and voila certificates will be emailed.
Choice Eliminator will eliminate options from a multiple-choice, dropdown, or checkbox type of question. This is great for signing up for time slots or having students pick from a selection of topics.
Choose the Choice Eliminator add on. Open the menu.
Determine which questions you want to be eliminated. Now when someone fills out the form one of the choices will be eliminated.
Once you enable this extension, you can click on the icon to manage and control any of the chrome extensions that are enabled in Chrome. You can toggle the different extensions and apps to turn them off and on whenever you want. This helps the browser run faster. You can also disable or uninstall any extension or app.
1. Get the Extension Manage for Chrome from the Chrome Store.
2. Whenever you want to see or change the extensions on Chrome click on the icon in the toolbar.
3. You can now toggle the different extensions off and one through the menu. The icons will go dark on the toolbar.
If you are the type of person that has a WHOLE bunch of tabs open and you can't find what you are looking for, or if you hear music from a tab and can't figure out which one it is, then one tab is for you. Enable One Tab on Google Chrome and then you can click the One Tab icon to convert all of the tabs into a list form. When you need to open the tabs again, you can either restore them all at one as a group or individually. This has really helped me out because I can create lists for specific EdTech trainings. I can name the list and star the list so it always stays on the top.
1. Get One Tab extension from the Chrome Store.
2. You will see the extension icon on your toolbar. Whenever you have a lot of tabs open, click on the icon to create a new list of tabs.
3. You can name the list of tabs. I name the lists that are for our EdTech presentations. I also star that list so it stays on top and I lock that list. When you lock the list, the list will stay in One Tab, even after the tabs have been restores.
If you have heard of snapchat, you have probably heard of Bitmoji by now. A bitmoji is an avatar emoji sticker that you can create and personalize so it looks like you. Why would this be helpful for educators? I don't always feel up for taking pictures of myself for presentations or trainings, but my Bitmoji is up for the task. I have made a lot of presentations and trainings where I have added a bitmoji to the presentation. Students like to see bitmojis of their teacher. Be aware that students should not have snapchat or bitmoji before they are 13!
1. Go to the chrome webstore and look up Bitmoji.
2. You either need to have a Bitmoji account or create a Bitmoji account. You will have to sign up with an email and you will need to run it through Snapchat. You do not have to use snapchat, but the two are linked. A bitmoji extension will show up on the toolbar.
3. When you click on the Bitmoji icon you can search for the type of emoji you want. You can right click to copy and then paste the emoji into your project. You may need to save and upload the image in some instances.

Our EdTech Team have created a variety of Potty PD that matches the different training we provide. We have Potty PD for Apple Resources as well as Google Resources. We have an amazing APPLE Distinguished Educator on our team so she has been creating the Apple Potty PD for our Apple trainings. Since I'm more familiar with GOOGLE Apps, I have created a variety of Google Potty PD. When we have conferences or trainings at a training facility we tape up the Potty PD in the bathroom stalls. We also offer copies of the Potty PD for the teachers to take from the trainings. Here is a link to the Google Potty PD forms I have created. To see all of our Potty PD, and to get updated versions go to our Potty-PD website bit.ly/potty-pd
