I provide district training for Google, Apple, AI, and other Digital Tools.
I have created excel sheets for Math Modules that are divided up by standard. Each section calculates student percentages automatically. Each standard can be filtered to make targeted RTI groups. The number of students proficient, nearing proficient and beginning steps is automatically calculated in order to compare grade level data. Each standard has an overall % of accuracy in order to use pretest data more effectively. I provided PD on this document, three grade levels have used this form to calculate grades after the PD.
I have also used Excel to create my own grade book that is divided up by subjects and matches the SBPR. The chart automatically determines mode, average and grades using a variety of formulas. The grade level has used and modified this grade book as well. I am in the process of converting excel documents to Google Sheets so they can be shared with staff.
I have used Google Sheets to create rubrics for student projects and presentations. The Google Sheets rubrics have the criteria for the project, have automatic conditional formatting that shades the rubric, as well as calculates points for each section. All the points are compiled together and instantly generate a student grade. Students are graded while presenting so rubrics can be printed for immediate feedback.
I have created Google Docs Templates for Instructional Council, Focus Teams and Grade level collaboration. Notes are taken and collaborated on in real time. I have worked with other focus groups to help set up Google Docs templates for them.
Students have used Google Docs on Chromebooks previously using the "Research" Tool in order to create team research papers that are collaborated on. An Add-On called Kaizena was used to give voice feedback to fix information before transferring to a website.
Students use Google Docs and Microsoft 365 to type Narrative and Expository essays. Students who need assistance with writing can use the Google Chromebook Voice Typing tool to complete written responses.
The Classroom Website has videos and links for parents in order to help with homework. Spelling lists, grammar homework and links to math homework on online. The website has a Home page for HW and class info, an updates page for parents, Math, Reading, Spelling, Writing, Social Studies, Science and Grammar pages
Parents can see teacher examples and explanations or student projects, academics and upcoming events on the Updates tab. The information can be changed to any language using the Google Translate widget.
Students have created a website for a group project. For a Science/Social Studies project student groups were assigned a variety of species from New Mexico. Students needed to research the topics, collaboratively edit and improve their information. Students then used the Weebly platform to create a website with their research information. They shared that information with grade level peers and other grade level students.
Students have used Ipads with the Pear Deck App so students have a 1:1 ability to respond to Google Slides. Students use the Pear Deck App for Reading and Math Academic Vocabulary flashcards that are created with Flashcard Factory.
Classroom ipads are used for Classroom Management in the classroom. Classroom "judges" have been selected as a committee. They monitor and give student points on Class Dojo. They also determine behavior problems and use the Ipad to take away team points. There is also a student who uses the APP Too Noisy pro during centers to keep students working. Both Apps have been shared with staff.
Students used I-pads and I-movie to create student book trailers for a unit that compares books and media. Students had to compare the books and the media using Google Slides graphic organizers. Then they created a book trailer to share with their peers.
Students used the App Imovie and video clips recorded from our classroom play. Working with the teacher as the director, the production team helped to create edit together a classroom movie for a classroom literature play. They also created a bloopers reel.
Interactive promethean lessons are used often throughout the year. Students are very familiar with using Activexpressions throughout the year. Many flipcharts for a variety of subjects are interactive. By the end of the year, students teach the class themselves. Many students have opted to create flipcharts with research information as well as interactive components and activexpressions questions.
Students have many lessons taught in the second half of the year using the Prezi platform. Students then pick a topic to research and they create their own Prezi presentation in order to share that information with the rest of the class. Students learn how to convert a research paper into a presentation.
Students use a variety of sources and technology on Google Chrome books to create interactive lessons for the other students. Students have made fortune tellers, brochures, quizzes, interactive notebook pages, Breakout EDU activities and much more all using a variety of technology.
Each Science Unit has a Breakout EDU Escape room activity with resources made digitally or do activities using technology.
Parents try to complete an interactive digital scavenger hunt on field trips using the APP Goose Chase.
Students are able to compete with each other using coding skills on the I-Pad with Wonder Workshop Dash and Dot robots.
I have inserted multi-media content on all of my flipcharts and powerpoint lessons, which I have shared with other teachers.
I have used Glogster, Powtoons, and Kagan digital tools including timer tools, team building tools, instant engagement tools and team/student selector tools.
I have used Seesaw, Bloomz, Edmodo and Kahoot in the past. I am currently using Class Dojo for parent communication.
I have previously used Nearpod, Edmodo and Padlet with teachers.
I have looked into using Google Drawings for Math manipulatives. I want to build manipulative sets for the different modules for RTI groups to use.
I have started to convert some Data Binder forms and Interactive Notebooks I have created for Reading and Math academic vocabulary into digital formats using Google Slides.
I have used mini video cameras and I-pads to have students create paper slide videos.
I have created a teacher website to share teaching tips and tricks including classroom management, environments and student activities.http://mrsnunezclassroom.weebly.com/
I have taken various sessions on Google Classroom. I have a Google Classroom set up, but most of my activities are currently on my classroom website, I was waiting to launch this in my classroom after we switched over to the new Reading Benchmark program.
I have recently been learning about Flipgrid and Wevideo to see how I could use them in my classroom in the future. I have also looked at using Google sites as a way for students to create digital portfolios. Class Dojo will launch a student digital portfolio as well, so I am waiting to see which one is more conducive. I have also taken a session on Class Craft which looks very interesting, I'm not sure it is appropriate for 4th graders.
