Students in my Gifted-Enriched ELA classes will be immersed in a curriculum defined by relevance, integration, and intellectual exploration. We focus on high-quality criteria and learning activities that empower young adolescents to ask—and answer—the questions most important to them. This approach not only builds essential ELA knowledge and skills but also fosters the attitudes and behaviors needed for a full and productive life.

Engaging the Gifted/High-Performing Learner

Since young adolescents learn best through active engagement and interaction, our classroom is highly collaborative. I utilize dialogue-based learning strategies and differentiated approaches that enhance and accommodate the diverse skills, abilities, and prior knowledge of every student. We aim to respond to the unique needs of our high-performing and driven learners.

Assessment for Growth

I believe assessment is a powerful tool for promoting quality learning. Students' progress will be continuously monitored through authentic and appropriate measures, providing detailed evidence of their growth trajectory. These evaluations are designed to offer a complete picture of learning that transcends the limitations of grades alone.
