We want your session to be a success! To help, Educational Resources gathered feedback from across our network to create this guide, Tips for Presenters. This guide offers critical strategies aligned with the Standards for Professional Learning to help you create a truly resonant experience for your audience.
With over 300 sessions and presenters, Educational Resources will communicate directly with the lead presenter for each session. The lead presenter is responsible for communicating any relevant information with their co-presenters. All communications will be sent via email and updated on this speaker website page. We recommend presenters check email and the website throughout the summer.
💬Join the Educator Summit Speaker Chat group for all updates, reminders, questions and communication needs.
Grab a copy of the Speaker Task list to stay organized and prepare for your session!
Promote Your Session
Create content to announce that you are presenting! Generate buzz around your session and share it out on your social media accounts. Take a look at our Educator Summit template to get started!
Sched Profile
Sign in to our Sched Educator Summit event page.
Update your profile so attendees know who is presenting to them. From experience we know how important this is to attendees.
Upload a professional photo to introduce yourself to attendees. Stop by Educational Resources office at City Center, 500 west on June 9th for free headshots!
Upload your session resources to your Sched session by August 4th.
Plan to arrive early to beat the traffic and get oriented! Park in the Convention Center garage free of charge by showing the parking pass with QR code. (Passes must be picked up on August 3rd)
Presenters are encouraged to upload all materials to Sched so attendees can easily access them. If you provide printed copies, we recommend including a QR code or short link for attendees to access content digitally as well.
All presentation rooms (workshops, presentation rooms, Kiva, & Halls) are equipped with a presenter table, chair, presentation board (HDMI cable), mic and speakers.
Bring your device charged and ready!
Ensure you have a HDMI connection - you may need to bring an adapter if your device doesn't have a HDMI connection.
Troubleshooting Tips
Bring a second device if you have one.
Download a PDF of your slides prior to the big day - this is a great back up if WiFi is down.
Have all your content open in separate tabs ready to share - this will limit the loading time.
Wi-Fi can be unpredictable when streaming videos. To avoid any issues during your presentation, we strongly recommend downloading any videos to your laptop in advance.
Lunch is provided, thanks to our Amira sponsor. You will receive your lunch ticket on August 3rd. Bring your ticket to the volunteer/speaker lunch area on August 4th to pick up anytime between 10:00am-2:00pm to receive your meal.
Presenters MUST complete the Speaker Lunch order form prior to July 17th to recieve a lunch.
Poster sessions are 30 minute presentations designed for excellent resource sharing and in-depth conversations. Poster sessions are located in multiple high-traffic locations throughout the day. Each location will include 5-20 boards with all sessions happening simultaneously. Please note that AV equipment and tables are not provided for poster sessions.
