Viewing Feedback on Assignments

You can view comments on your lab assignment submissions after they are grading both by viewing the graded rubric and by opening the feedback file your instructor created for your submission. You can use this feedback to understand why your question received the grade it did. You should also use this feedback to review your lab and correct any possible mistakes you may have made for all future Lab Assignments. By reviewing your feedback, you will be able to improve throughout the semester!

Note: If you are viewing your assignment using the mobile app, you may not be able to view the feedback. Please use the website for Asulearn instead.

1. Open AsuLearn and navigate to your completed Lab Assignment and check that the Graded status is “Graded”. 

   • If the Submission status says “No attempt”. You did not submit the lab. 

   • If the Grading status says “Not graded”, your lab instructor has not graded the assignment yet. If it has been more than 2 weeks since you submitted the lab, please contact your instructor. 

2. Scroll past the Grading criteria. This outlines the rubric used for grading, but does not contain any information on your individual results.

3. Keep scrolling below the Edit submission and Remove submission buttons until you see the Header titled “Feedback”.

   • Under Feedback you will see the same grading criteria filled out for your Lab. 

     1. The highlighted box contains your grade for each question.

     2. In the far right column you will see any comments your lab instructor left beside the corresponding question.

     3. Any additional comments will be found at the bottom of the page beside “Feedback comments”.

     4. If the Feedback comments indicate that your lab instructor cannot open your lab report to grade, you may have not converted it to a PDF before submitting. Please see Converting a Google Doc into a PDF.

   • Look for a file under Annotate PDF. Many lab instructors will provide much more detailed feedback on a copy of your submission. 

     1. You can see which questions are correct or incorrect. 

     2. Items you may have missed will be circled or highlighted.

     3. Longer comments will appear as a comment link, which are located at the end of your annotated PDF.

4. You can contact your Lab Instructor with any questions you may have regarding grading and feedback.
