Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE)

Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education focuses on the holistic development of the future citizens of modern Britain. Our classrooms provide rich learning opportunities for students to develop the expertise and experience needed to claim their rights and understand their responsibilities, and prepare for the challenges and opportunities of adult and working life.

KS4 PSHE education develops lifelong skills that will support students to become resilient, confident and ambitious members of a flourishing and diverse society. Our broad and inclusive PSHE curriculum ensures students are able to look after their own wellbeing; whether that be navigating life online, making responsible decisions about relationships or understanding how to manage stress. As a result of our PSHE education, pupils can independently manage many of the challenges and responsibilities they face as they approach adulthood. Our outstanding PSHE provision helps pupils to fulfil their academic potential and leave school as tenacious, empowered young people who have the skillset and determination to achieve success.

IMPARTIAL CAREERS ADVICE

Students have access to face to face impartial careers guidance either in the form of a group or an individual careers interview. The Interview is an opportunity for your daughter to discuss her future and next step options with a Careers Adviser who will give impartial information, advice and guidance. During the interview students will have the opportunity to:

  • Discuss the main choices to be considered and how to make choices

  • Discuss their individual career plans and look at routes of entry and how to move forward

As a parent you can help by:

  • Encouraging her to reflect on what she hopes to do post-16.

  • Encourage her to think about the courses she is interested in studying further.
