Botanical View - 2023 Juming Museum Annual Special Exhibition
2023/1/22-2024/1/21
Slowing down the hurried pace during the COVID-19 epidemic, we re-recognize the power of plants, the key code for the coexistence of humans and nature. Therefore, here at the Shanlin Art Museum, which is full of plants, the 2023 Juming Art Museum annual special exhibition is titled "Plant Views", trying to use the unique creative vocabulary of art to connect the relationship between people, plants and even nature. And through the ambiguous interpretation of the word "Guan" The process of mutual gazing between artists and plants is transformed into a new thinking of "viewing", "viewpoint" and "concept", and it is proposed that "plants are living organisms in the natural environment, how should we look and think about what we see before us "Plants" inquiry. Through the content created by the artist, it may bring us more aspects of thinking, and also open a door to the "view of plants" for us. As far as plants themselves are concerned, plants not only provide people with the power to calm their minds, but also provide food, oxygen, herbs, and shelter. Their importance is self-evident at all levels, including physical, physical, and spiritual levels. Accordingly, this exhibition invited eight artists to respond to the exhibition's proposition from different viewing perspectives. How the pure existence of ordinary plants can lead to subtle and delicate emotions; Feel the initial tension and warmth of life through plants; pay attention to the mutual blending, disappearance and transition of nature and city; or, through art, look back at the land that nurtures you and care about the ecological survival issues; or even as a way to reflect humanities, history, and politics, plants can escape from people's ordinary cognition and become spiritual subjects that are compatible with multiple aspects, carrying out diverse presentations with different ideas and aesthetics, and creating a rich viewing field.
