Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
JUNE/JULY 2024:
2024 All Chapter Banquet - (local, post-graduation, personal growth opportunities, social activities) Getting together to celebrate the accomplishments of our members.
Leadership Training Camp - (state FCCLA programs, leadership development, personal growth opportunities, social activities)-Leadership Training with our state and local FCCLA officers and members.
2024 National Leadership Conference- Seattle, Washington-(state and national FCCLA programs, leadership development, personal growth opportunities, competitive events, post-graduation readiness) -Members travel to compete in STAR events, meet other FCCLA members from around the country, and gain leadership skills and training.
Volunteer at the 2024 American Association of Family and Consumer Science National Conference- (community partnerships, leadership development, personal growth opportunities, competitive events, post-graduation readiness, school and community outreach and service)- We will be volunteering at the conference, helping out with various conference events and duties.
AUGUST 2024:
Leadership Council Meeting - (local, state, and national FCCLA programs, leadership development, personal growth opportunities)-Our chapter's leadership meeting before the school year kicks off to meet with our advisor and get to know each other, leadership activities.
Leadership Council Planning Workshop - (local, state, and national FCCLA programs, fundraising and community partnerships, leadership development, school and community outreach and service)- The chapter leadership council set up the FCCLA bulletin board and display case along with planning the calendar, activities for Freshmen recruitment night.
MN Children's Museum- Block Party - (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, social activities, national FCCLA program)- Volunteered at the MN Children's Museum at the Block Party event.
Freshman Orientation Recruitment - (national FCCLA program, social activities)- Leadership Council was able to set up a booth at the orientation and recruit incoming Freshmen into FCCLA.
SEPTEMBER 2024:
Cookie Kickoff Member Recruitment- (social activities)-Kicked off the year by eating cookies and writing letters to our service members who are deployed with new and past members.
Monthly Meeting - (social activities, community partnership, school and community outreach and service, leadership development, and personal growth opportunities)- Members learn about new ways to help out their community through fun activities while actively meeting new people and making new friends. During the meetings, chapter leaders also highlight past and upcoming events on the calendar. State, local, and national FCCLA programs are discussed and worked on.
Warrior 196 Leadership Memorial 5K - (national FCCLA program, community partnership, school and community outreach and service)-Cheered on the runners with signs, handed out medals and snacks.
Feed My Starving Children - (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, personal growth opportunities, social activities)-Volunteer at the organization with other members and pack meals for children across the world.
9/11 Service Project-Operation Gratitude - (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, post-graduation readiness)-Writing postcards to deployed service members. Inviting the MN Army National Guard into FCS classes.
Childcare for Family Night- (national FCCLA program, school and community outreach and service)-FCCLA chapter members and FCS class students provided child care for families during our Family Night.
OCTOBER 2024:
Desserts by FCCLA - (school and community outreach and service,)- Brought in desserts for Eastview High School staff during fall conferences.
Monthly Meeting - (social activities, community partnership, school and community outreach and service, leadership development, and personal growth opportunities)- Members learn about new ways to help out their community through fun activities while actively meeting new people and making new friends. During the meetings, chapter leaders also highlight past and upcoming events on the calendar. State, local, and national FCCLA programs are discussed and worked on. STAR event information was introduced.
Childcare for Fall School Conferences- (national FCCLA program, school and community outreach and service)- FCCLA chapter members and FCS class students provided child care for families during our fall parent/family conferences.
Central East Fall Rally - (social activities, state, local and national FCCLA programs, competitive events, leadership development, and personal growth opportunities)- Our Area Officers along with our State Officer and Area Peer Educators planned and executed this conference for all the chapters in the Central East Area. We also introduced the 2024-2025 MN State theme. We heard a dynamic speaker, learned about STAR Events, collected and made Boo Bags to deliver to the Robert B. Lewis House for Halloween fun.
Delivering Boo Bags to The Robert. B. Lewis House: (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, personal growth opportunities, state and national FCCLA programs)- Our Leadership Council delivered the Boo Bags to the Robert B. Lewis House to pass out to the children staying there so that they have a treat for celebrating Halloween.
Feed My Starving Children - (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, personal growth opportunities, social activities)-Volunteer at the organization with other members and pack meals for children across the world.
MN Children's Museum- Spooktacular - (national FCCLA program, community partnership, school and community outreach and service, social activities)- Volunteered at the Children's Museum Halloween event, hosting games and treats for children and their families.
FCCLA Fall Leadership Institute- Anaheim, California- (leadership development, personal growth opportunities, career exploration)- Joined other members from across the country to focus on expanding leadership and teamwork skills using the Disney methodology.
MN FCCLA Fall Summit- (state FCCLA programs, leadership development, personal growth opportunities, competitive events, career exploration, post- graduation readiness, social activities)- Joined other members across the state in networking skills, learning about STAR Events, being involved in leadership and service opportunities and hearing dynamic speakers.
NOVEMBER 2024:
Potluck Dinner - (social activities)- Celebrate the end of the quarter with members.

FCCLA Fall Online Challenge Tests- (personal growth opportunities, leadership development, career exploration, state and national FCCLA programs)- Our Chapter State Officer took 2 of the National Online Challenge Tests.

Dakota Woodlands - (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, social activities)-Volunteer at the organization, serving dinner and playing bingo with the families.
Mid-Winter Meeting and STAR Event Competition - (state and national FCCLA programs, personal growth opportunities, competitive events, leadership development,) Compete at the regional level in STAR Events. Attend a Mid-Winter meeting.
NorthStar Therapy Animal Visit to EVHS- (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, personal growth opportunities, social activities) Our chapter brought in therapy dogs to help relieve stress of our school community. We were able to bring them in during finals to play with the puppies.
Monster Project With Diamond Path Elementary School Kindergarten Classes- (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, social activities, career exploration)- FCCLA and EVHS FCS classes sewed monsters from drawings that the Diamond Path Elementary Kindergartners created. We will be delivering them and reading to the kindergarteners this spring.
FEBRUARY 2025:

FCCLA Week - (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, social activities, fundraising)-Celebrate FCCLA week at school and with our chapter through activities and acts of service. We will be doing fundraising and member/faculty appreciation activities.
Rose Fundraiser-(social activities, community partnership, school, and community outreach and service, fundraising) -Chapter members sold roses to parents and students at EVHS to raise money for the State and National Leadership Conference.

MAFCS- (Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Science Teachers)- Joint Service Project-Service- (community partnership, school and community outreach and service)- Collecting personal hygiene items to give to local shelters in our community.-360's Communities
MAFCS-(Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences) State Conference- (community partnership, school and community outreach and service leadership development, career exploration, post-graduation readiness)- State Officers volunteered and attended the MAFCS State Conference. State Officers hosted a session with the MN Executive Director at the conference and learned more about the FCS field.
The Drawer Inventory Session - (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, social activities, national FCCLA program)-Inventory of bundling items by FCCLA members and the Drawer for MLK Service month.
Eastview High School Winterfest Week- (fundraising, school and community outreach and service, leadership development, community partnership, school and community outreach and service)- We collaborated with our service project for the school's Winterfest Week.
CTSO Day at the Capitol- (leadership development, post-graduation readiness, career exploration) Going to the MN Capitol, meeting with legislators, learning about public service careers.
Monster Project With Diamond Path Elementary School Kindergarten Classes- (community partnership, school and community outreach and service, social activities, career exploration)- FCCLA and EVHS FCS classes sewed monsters from drawings that the Diamond Path Elementary Kindergartners created. We will be delivering them and reading to the kindergarteners this spring.

AP Test Treats- (fundraising, school, and community outreach and service)- Distribution of treats purchased by parents for AP test takers.
Rubber Duck Races- (fundraising, school and community outreach and service)- Schoolwide rubber duck race to raise funds for National Leadership Conference.
Royals Party- (school and community outreach and service, social activities, fundraising, leadership development, and National Programs)-Planning a Royal party for children in our community. They will come to EVHS for a party with interactive stations and snacks. Using this to fundraise for NLC and State Conference.
