Mia Battistone brings 30 years of dedication to the Family and Consumer Sciences profession, starting her career at Dakota Hills Middle School and opening Eastview High School in 1997. A passionate advocate for leadership development as well as member and student support. Mia is deeply committed to advancing the FCS profession and mentoring the leaders of tomorrow. Mia founded the Eastview High School FCCLA Chapter in 2006, and has had a long and successful tenure.
Mia and her FCCLA Chapter members have received numerous honors and awards at the local, state, and national levels, placing in the National Top 10 multiple years in a row. Mia’s awards include MN Teacher of the Year, FCCLA State and National Master and Mentor Adviser, State and National Spirit of Advising, and National Adviser of the Year Finalist in 2024, She has also been an active member of the MN FCCLA Board of Directors for the past 8 years.
Mia's leadership and contributions extend beyond just the classroom, as evidenced by her roles within AAFCS (American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences), holding numerous MAFCS (Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences) Officer positions, serving as President in 2024-25, and being named the 2025 MAFCS Teacher of the Year and 2025 National FCS Teacher of the Year. Her leadership as a CTE TIP (Career and Technical Teacher Induction Program) Mentor further exemplifies her commitment to supporting other educators, promoting excellence, and elevating the Family and Consumer Sciences profession. A student-nominated recognition as a National Adviser of the Year finalist highlights her lasting impact on students and the deep connection she has with them in their lives. Her influence transcends beyond teaching, shaping generations of students into leaders who will continue to carry her impact forward.
