Little Bird
By Rayna Mull
A little bird, I hide in my nest,
Friendly eyes look at me, a test.
Every hand that held me near,
Has flown away and left me fearful.
The sun smiles, a tease,
I turn away, afraid to please.
Because the warmth, so bright and bold,
Might fade away and leave me cold.
My heart's a door, locked tight,
Against the light.
love,a sweet song, a strain,
Reminds me of falling rain.
Tear You Apart
By Rayna Mull
A fragile heart and tender soul,
Keeps distance, avoids control.
For love is a sweet art,
but bitter pain can tear you apart.
For every hand held in the past,
Let go too soon, making me feel like an outcast.
A shadow deep, a fear,
I can feel the closeness near.
Walls are built up high, smiles restrained,
A plea to be unchained.
But memories cut like knives,
And guard against my life.
