Cheerleader Season Recap
By: Carter Dues
The first game of the season for the MPMS Cheerleaders was good with everyone being pretty excited for their first game but some issues with flying. They also had issues with stunting and uniforms. Uniforms kept ripping because they are old. The cheerleaders need new uniforms!
After a couple of practices, a few girls got injured. Practices takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. After the first two to three games, practicing early in the morning on practice days was tiring. Even though they were tired they were still excited for all their games and brought the energy to go 3 - 1 in their first four games. Now that they are almost halfway done with the season, “We're starting to feel much more of a routine but still with some of that pressure.” said a member of the Cheerleading team, Molly Hann. They started getting help from MPHS Cheerleaders and are now getting better and more confident. Even after a couple of injuries, they are still keeping a good mindset into their last three games and we wish them the best of luck. MPMS Cheerleaders are coached by Ms. Pethel and Ms. McDonald. Good luck Tigers!
Football Season Recap
By: Carter Dues
The 2024 Football Season for the MPMS Tigers, though disappointing, was still an improvement from last year. From one win to three. The start had all the momentum we could ask for. Two straight close home games in a row was a nice feeling for the team. Expectations were high for the rest of the season but we could not replicate the success we had at the start. Although we won a close game against Concord they had the worst record coming out 0 - 8. Overall, still an improvement from last season and I'm excited to come back and watch some of the 7th graders from this year take over a leadership role. In conclusion, the season was an improvement from the last and we hope to see the 7th Graders come back for some more next year.
