Investing In Good Friendships
By: Molly Hann
Do you have a close friend? Have you ever thought about whether they're a good friend to you? Well, being close to people can actually be really good for you! And you would probably want to take into consideration if your friend is good to you and good for you. Good friendships are based on trust, and take time to build up. If it’s a good friend, you should be able to open up to them, and share feelings. They would also support you no matter what!
Dependable friends do not become jealous if you want to spend time with other people, or to just be alone. It also helps if you know yourself and your positive traits. If you like yourself, others are most likely to like you, too! Think about what you like to do in your freetime.
It is very important that you treat your friends with respect, and not take them for granted. Sometimes tensions can arise within friendships. People that you think are truly a good friend might exclude you, or talk about you behind your back. If this happens, try to address the problem. If they are real friends they will decide to stop doing this, or they will explain if there has been a misunderstanding. I know how bad it feels when your “friends” talk about you behind your back. Trust me when I say it gets better. If you need more advice, feel free to come see me, or you can check out the book I used in the library. The source/book I used was called “Teen Issues, Relationships”. This can help your friendship problems. Thanks for reading, come back next month for more advice!
