Uniforms For Sports Teams
By: Molly Hann
Have you noticed that our sports teams have been having trouble with their uniforms? Well, as a cheerleader and a soccer player, I say that we need new uniforms. This football season, uniforms were falling apart left and right. Then I started to realize that the football jersey numbers are fading. We’ve been having a lot of issues lately, so I think the best solution is to get completely new uniforms, instead of trying to fix them. The problems we have been having with cheer uniforms for example is, we have to get our uniforms altered to fit us right, some of us got them altered too tight, or not enough. Some of our uniforms ripped because they were too tight. Some of them basically fall off of the girls, because their uniforms are too loose. I guess what I’m trying to say is, we need new uniforms.
To help with this problem, our school could hold fundraisers. For example, at a fundraiser we could hold a bake sale, wash cars for teachers, have kids bring in money to pie a teacher in the face (their choice of the teacher), or students could decide if they want to donate money for a raffle prize at the end of the fundraiser/raffle. Please take this into consideration.
Cabarrus County's Bus Situation
by: Lilly George
You may have realized this year, and maybe even last year, or even a couple of years back that Mount Pleasant Middle School and Cabarrus County Schools District is having a lot of trouble maintaining busses, hiring bus drivers, and especially getting kids to school or to home on time/in a normal time span. Multiple parents seemed concerned with this issue according to wcnc.com. If I was a parent and my kid was getting home an hour late or more because of the bus, I’d be concerned too.
Parent Jessica Black has said multiple things about this issue on the wcnc.com website. She states that she's done multiple and many changes and re-dos to her work schedule so she can make sure her daughter, who goes to JN Fries Middle School in the Cabarrus County District, gets to school safely and on time. Jessica Black also states that she notices the obvious from this year to last year. Bus problems have been happening for quite some time, but this year it's even worse.
Cabarrus County's district says they have 37 bus driver openings with 8 people in queue to be trained then hired for the job. There are also some buses who have to do double runs per route because of the lack of drivers. Bus drivers in queue for this job need to start being trained then hired as fast as possible so this situation can be solved as soon as possible and children can be transported to school and to home in an acceptable time span. Please think about this and take this article into thought or consideration.
Gilmore Girls Review
By Kinsley Mills
Gilmore Girls is a very popular tv show made in the 2000’s (Source: https://www.imdb.com). Gilmore Girls is a show preferably for a mother and daughter to watch together, because it is based on a mom and her teen daughter with drama and comedy. It is mainly about a big mother-daughter relationship they have. I think Gilmore Girls is a perfect show to watch with your mom if you're a girl, because the relationship between the Gilmores relates to the relationship between you and your mom. When it comes to boys, puberty, actions and words we say, you go through it, but with your mom. So that is kind of what is going on in the Gilmore Girls show. In my opinion, Gilmore Girls is like an emotional support show, it shows how the relationship is between the mom and her daughter. So I highly suggest watching Gilmore Girls.
