Girl Scout Diabetic Friendly Cookie?
By Sky Garcia
Girl Scouts have bronze, silver, and gold awards. It depends on which age group you are in. I’m in the Cadette group because I”m in the 7th grade so I will be working on my silver award project. For my project, I would like to discuss with the people who are in charge of the cookies about getting a diabetic friendly cookie. My reason for wanting this cookie is because we lose out on so many cookie sales because 11.6% to 12% of Americans are diabetic and 80% to 90% of Americans are pre-diabetic and they don’t even know it. This is a problem because we have a gluten free cookie and vegan but not a diabetic cookie? We could have so many more cookie sales if only we had a diabetic cookie. Plus people who have to watch their sugar intake, could still enjoy the delicious Girl Scout cookies!
