Our kaupapa:
Within our Whakaari Hāpori we embrace the challenge of performance. Some students enjoy dancing, others are creative through drama, and a few are exploring their music passion.
We have a group that is working towards a Showquest stage show, and another that is creating an onscreen story.

DJ and MUSIC PRODUCTION
As part of this Hapori, a group of students are working with our own resident DJ, "Maestro B" (aka Brent) to learn the craft of DJ-ing.
Using industry standard technologies, students are learning about music selection and curation of playlists, song structure, mixing, reading the crowd, and genre specific knowledge.
The skills learned will allow students to take on a range of different types of performance gigs, from private events such as weddings and 21sts to raves and club nights.
Students are developing their own DJ brand and are producing mixshows which are being uploaded to their own personal mixcloud sites.
This is a good option for students who care a great deal for music and have an urge to find the best tracks and share them with other people.
