Hello all! This is my 24th year as a full-time English teacher here at BRHS. My wife Nathalie, a native speaker of French, taught here as well for a number of years before moving on to Mt. Ararat High School. Nathalie and I have two sons, Alex and Nick, who are BRHS alumni. We have lived in Edgecomb for more than twenty years.

My master's degree is in literature in English , so I try to bring my passion for the subject to my students. I remember that my favorite teachers along the way have been passionate and knowledgeable. The longer I have been teaching, the more that I have learned to listen to my students; their insights make my teaching more effective.

Some of my avocations include playing tennis (I've "served"-- thank you, Ms. Manahan for the double entendre--as tennis coach of the boys' team), reading one book (fiction or non), then the same day picking up another, writing poetry and, recently, a book-length memoir, and traveling "into the wild."

Welcome! I've been teaching for a little over 25 years with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Ed./English.

My 19-year-old was incubating when I took this position--some of you may remember that belly--and is now attending the University of Maine.

I'm a Wiscasset girl, born and raised, but root for our Seahawks--and now have one of my own! My 7th-grader commutes with me to take advantage of the exceptional teachers and programs our school system offers.

For fun, Ronan and I listen to audiobooks on our drives to school and practices and on our vacation road trips. Our goal is to see the whole of this beautiful country. When at home, I like to labor in my flower gardens.

I've been a teacher here at BRHS for eleven years now, with fourteen total years of professional education work under my belt; that's a long time, admittedly, but luckily for me, there's no career on Earth I'd rather have.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and a Master's Degree in Education, which I earned while working here as a full time educator.

Beyond the school day, my life largely revolves around being a husband to my wife Hilary, who is also an English educator, and being a father to my three children (Natalie, age 11, and my twins Logan and Vivian, both age 5). If I'm not hanging out with them, I'm probably reading a book in the sun and listening to the Red Sox on the radio!
