Julie Sayres

Julie Sayres is an award-winning screenwriter, working in Los Angeles. Her credits include “Reaching for the Moon,” for which she received an award for best screenplay adaptation by the Brazilian Academy of Letters and for which she was also nominated for best adapted screenplay by the Brazilian Film Academy. Her screenplay, “Blind Love” won the Bronze Award at the European Independent Film Awards. (The EIFA)

She was a staff writer on the series “Midnight Caller” and wrote episodes of “Gabriel’s Fire” and “Beggars and Choosers” among others. She was also a co-creator and supervising producing on the CBS series “Four Corners.” She has also written many television movies, including “A Walton Easter,” “Dallas Reunion” and the mini-series: “Knot’s Landing: Back to the Cul-de-sac.” She has produced a documentary about veterans with PTSD and their service dogs called “To Be of Service” and currently has a one hour drama pilot in development.

Aside from her work as a screenwriter, Julie is also an adjunct professor of screenwriting at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She received her B.A. from New York University and an MFA in screenwriting from Goddard College.
