Free or Discounted Writing Applications
Students are now eligible for Office 365 Education. To get free access, please go to office.com/getoffice365 and register.
IMPORTANT: When you go there to sign up, please do NOT use your actual Antioch email address. Please use your student ID number @antioch.edu instead. For example, if your ID # is 1234567, then you will use 1234567@antioch.edu. You will then use your actual Antioch password to log in.

Free Speech-to-Text Offerings
Most operating systems have dictation capability under Accessibility features:
Apple devices have iOS Dictation
Windows Devices often have a Speech-to-Text that can be turned on in the control Panel (Windows 10, Windows 8 and 7)
Read&Write for Window has a dictation feature called Talk and Type -- download R&W for free
In the Chrome Web Browser:
Google Voice Typing -- can also be used for transcription in the Chrome Web Browser
Dictation for Gmail allows you to compose Gmail email using speech and
Speechify for Chrome allows your computer to read your email aloud.
In Firefox
but I haven't found a Speech-to-text extension. If you know of one, email at@antioch.edu. Until then use the ones for iOS and Windows.
Another option is using Zoom to auto-transcribe.
Free Text-to-Speech Offerings
Convert-a File: AU Convert-a-File is an automated document conversion service that allows you to convert your readings into alternate formats. You can also use this service to convert inaccessible or tricky readings, slides and lecture notes into formats that work best for you such as: PDF, DOC, MP3 files, E-books & MOBI (aka Kindle), Structured audio books in DAISY and e-books with media overlay, Digital Braille books etc.

The Antioch University Writers’ Exchange provides professional editing, formatting, and coaching services for writers. There is a fee for these services. Discounted rates for Antioch students and alumni are listed on the website: wex.antioch.edu.
