Lisa Freeman’s passion for storytelling has guided her journey from acting to a career in writing. As an author, educator, and spoken word artist, Lisa's creative pursuits have allowed her to explore different mediums and connect with diverse audiences. After completing her MFA in Fiction and Pedagogy from Antioch University, Sky Pony Press published Lisa’s first two young adult novels, Honey Girl and Riptide Summer. This series blends historical fiction with surf mythology, captivating readers of all ages. Lisa has also made contributions to platforms such as Barnes and Noble Teen Blog, Writer's Digest, Huffington Post, POPSugar, and The Advocate.  While Lisa initially embarked on her career as an actor in shows and films like Back to the Future I and II and Mr. Mom, her love for storytelling led her to explore the written word. An active member of the LGBTQQI+ community, Lisa proudly champions inclusivity and representation in her work. Her recently completed novel, The If Beyond Wonder, is a poignant gay love story that beautifully captures the complexities of human connection and identity. Currently residing in Santa Monica and Vancouver, Lisa shares her life with her partner of 26 years, Phranc. Together, they are proud parents to two children, embodying the importance of love and family in Lisa's life and work.
