I am an education professional with 15+ years experience teaching secondary English and K-12th grade English Language Learners / English as a Second or Other Language (ELL/ESOL) in U.S. public and international schools. I also have extensive experience managing international educational initiatives, curriculum design, training and coaching, and helping schools build strong programs for diverse learners. 

I currently serve as the ANS English Language Learner Coordinator, working with ELL students and teachers at the primary and secondary levels. I prefer to tutor ELL students who need assistance with English language acquisition and development, or need help accessing core curriculum due to their English proficiency.

I pride myself on creating and delivering engaging, productive and fun classes. I hold a Master’s degree in Education, as well as in International Development, a Bachelor’s degree in languages, and am a certified  secondary English and K-12 ESOL teacher in the United States.

¡Hola! Soy Jennifer Quiroz, docente con más de 4 años de experiencia en la enseñanza de español como lengua extranjera y Lengua y Literatura. Ofrezco tutorías personalizadas para niños adaptadas a su edad, nivel y necesidades, fortaleciendo la expresión oral, comprensión lectora, escritura, vocabulario y gramática.

También brindo acompañamiento en Lengua y Literatura, reforzando áreas como ortografía, redacción, comprensión y análisis de textos, además de apoyar en tareas y preparación para evaluaciones. My name is Jorge Lacayo. I work as an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher at the American Nicaraguan School. I enjoy working with an amazing group of passionate and dedicated teachers at ANS. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a student-centered classroom where learning is fun and meaningful. Additionally, I am devoted to fostering a love for lifelong learning through curiosity, inquiry, and critical thinking. My teaching background includes: supporting students' language learning in an NGO, working as an English teacher in a virtual learning environment, and facilitating classroom support in the different subject areas as a 5th and 2nd grade paraprofessional, as well as, English Language teaching for Elementary students at ANS. Finally, I have had the chance to work on Tutoring as a freelance for Primary students. It will be my pleasure to support our Primary students achieve their full potential in the Tutoring program.

During after school tutoring, I focus on understanding each student’s needs, building their confidence, and making learning enjoyable.
