Featured: Workshop with Deloitte
As part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2025, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) hosted the Green Skills for a Green Economy training program on 8 November 2025, a Deloitte-led program designed in collaboration with ISEP to equip participants with the knowledge and competencies needed for a sustainable future.The training introduced attendees to the fundamentals of environmental sustainability, the skills needed to address the climate emergency, and the expanding landscape of green careers across industries. Students, staff, and faculty from Education City universities and beyond engaged in discussions that explored climate awareness, real-world sustainability challenges, and emerging opportunities within the green economy.Sustainability Week
Group Step Count Challenge
This event was a collaborative initiative between EcoCampus and the Chicken Legs Club. Joining required forming a team, logging steps, and competing against the rest of the university.

Wasteless Wednesday: My Plate Our Planet and Origami
This initiative was designed to tackle both food and paper waste through the "reduce, reuse, recycle" principle. The event combined two core activities: a food waste reduction campaign based on the Qatar Foundation initiative and an upcycling project addressing paper waste in collaboration with Arts & Crafts Club and Renee Barcelona.

Car Free Thursday: Tram Tour & Scavenger Hunt
The tram tour was leveled up with a fun Sustainability Scavenger Hunt! This event, to was faciliatated by Nancy Malaeb and Mohamed Alkhodary, to challenge the CMU-Q community—students, faculty, and staff—to participate in a car-free day by utilizing sustainable transport options.

Friday Exclusive: The Global Screen
This was a curated cinematic experience designed to inspire change! The Global Screen was an exclusive movie night where film met conscious living. Participants gained global awareness on pressing environmental and social challenges, spark meaningful discussions, fostering a sense of global citizenship and empowerment.
My Plate Our Planet
We launched My Plate, Our Planet, an Education City–wide sustainability initiative to encourage everyone to finish what they take - helping reduce food waste and build mindful dining habits across our cafeterias.

Reboot The Earth Hackathon
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar hosted Reboot the Earth Doha from October 2–4, in partnership with the United Nations, Salesforce, and other global collaborators. This global hackathon brought together students, developers, scientists, and climate advocates to design open-source digital public goods addressing urgent challenges in agriculture and AI.

FEE Conference
EcoCampus represented CMU-Q at the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) Conference in Malaysia this September, 2025. They presented our impactful projects, showcasing the university’s commitment to sustainability on a global platform. This opportunity allowed participants to exchange knowledge with international leaders and elevate CMU-Q's reputation as a sustainability advocate.
