Purpose:

To deepen the learners' understanding of the SAMR and Bloom's Taxonomy models.
To provide digital tools and resources to help enhance and transform lesson design.
To assist educators in selecting the appropriate digital tool to enhance and transform learning for all students.

Goal:

Participants will be able to define technology and understand its role in education.
Participants will gain knowledge about SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition) model and Bloom's Taxonomy
Participants will increase their understanding of integrating SAMR and Bloom's to select the right digital tools needed to personalize learning.
Participates will be inspired to use digital tools to enhance and transform learning.

Provide an overview of the SAMR model and Bloom's Taxonomy.
Describe how to integrate differentiated digital resources to personalized instruction for all types of learners.
Provide an opportunity to reflect on a previous lesson.
Provide an opportunity to use the SAMR & Bloom's model, enhancing and transforming the lesson design.

Standard 5: Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability. Educators:

5a: Use technology to create, adapt, and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs.
5b: Design authentic learning activities that align with content area standards and use digital tools and resources to maximize active, deep learning.
5c: Explore and apply instructional design principles to create innovative digital learning environments that engage and support learning.

Standard 6: Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students. Educators:

6a: Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings.
6b: Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.
6c: Create learning opportunities that challenge students to use a design process and computational thinking to innovate and solve problems.
6d: Model and nurture creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge or connections.

Domain I: Fostering a Collaborative Culture to Support Educator Development and Student Learning

a) Utilize group processes to help colleagues work collaboratively to solve problems, make decisions, manage conflict, and promote meaningful change.
c) Employs facilitation skills to create trust among colleagues, develop collective wisdom, build ownership and action that supports student learning.

Domain IV: Facilitating Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning

e) Uses knowledge of existing and emerging technologies to guide colleagues in helping students skillfully and appropriately navigate the universe of knowledge available on the Internet, use social media to promote collaborative learning, and connect with people and resources around the globe.
f) promotes instructional strategies that address issues of diversity and equity in the classroom and ensures that individual student learning needs remain the central focus of instruction.

Standard 1:
The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning and development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional and physical areas and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences.
Standard 2:
The teacher uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that enable each learner to meet high standards.
Standard 6:
The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making.
Standard 7:
The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy,as well as knowledge of learners and the community context.
Standard 8:
The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.
