Enneadic Star Pronaos

Enneadic Star Pronaos (ESP) continues the tradition of maintaining an AMORC affiliated body in the Portland area. This tradition extends back at least to 1923, beginning with a chartered Oregon lodge in Portland, which for a long time was called Portland Rose Lodge and later Enneadic Star Lodge. Responding dynamically to the needs of the times, it subsequently operated as a Chapter and then a Pronaos over the years, with several changes of meeting location.

We now have in-person meetings at Frog Pond Grange in Wilsonville and also at Parkrose Lodge in Portland.  

Usually, meetings are on the Second and Fourth Sundays of the month, but we also try to match our activities with the solstices and equinoxes, so there may be changes to this routine.  Please notice the Draft schedule of activities for 2025 later on this website and make a note of the events that you will attend.   At least half of these activities* are open to Family and Friends of AMORC. So, Members: please invite your family and friends!  (* the open activities include Atrium convocation ceremonies, and other special events announced on this page)

We also occasionally meet virtually over Zoom, usually on Saturday or Sunday afternoons, with videos for members only. Please check the Rosicrucian Community Events site (https://rosicruciancommunity.org/events) for details; new events are added weekly.

*COVID masking requirements:  We follow the Oregon State Health Authority guidelines on masking for our meetings. Currently, masks are NOT required for our meetings, although members and non-members may still mask if they wish.

Masters Message for January 2026

Last year we members of Enneadic Star Pronaos and our friends and family accomplished many things:

• We started holding Atrium Convocations that are open to interested non-members and friends as a type of appetizer for those who might be thinking of joining but wanted to check out what it is we do first.  (Big note, there is a technique we do every time during an Atrium Convocation that can improve your health and extend your life.)

• We had a nature walk and later, a picnic to celebrate the Summer solstice with our Peace ritual.  In the Fall, we had the outdoor Memorial Ceremony under an immense and beautiful Atlas cedar.  Members came from far away to attend some of these events.

• We had a West Coast premiere of a prize-winning documentary made by our former Grand Councilor.  We watched Mystic Maya, created by a Rosicrucian Frater.

• We had a two-day Sound Healing seminar and learned the whys and hows of sound affecting humans, and took part in sound baths and bowls in a beautiful temple environment.

• We had a color and sound meditation.

• We had a Favorite Rock or Crystal show and tell.

• We gained around 10 new fascinating members! and initiated eight of them!  We had about 25 other friends and family join the usual 13 members who attend each meeting.  

But!  We also experienced losses.   Regional Monitor Emeritus Gwenolyn Gowing passed through transition, joining her husband, Grand Councilor Emeritus David Gowing, in the eternal oneness.  They were longtime supporters of our group with their time, service and money, and left us a bequest, for which we are very grateful!

The goal for this and future years is to return to our former Chapter and then Lodge status.  (This group has been in Oregon for over a century and has even been a Lodge.  Lodges are special, because they can carry out Degree initiations.)  But first things first, for this to happen, we need to have 25 members attending regularly and become a Chapter!  Can you make attending our meetings at least once a month a priority of yours?  We will keep offering unique teachings and opportunities.  If enough are interested and willing to put in the work, we could even plan a regional retreat with other groups in the Pacific NW.

Here is your schedule (click link to access) for the next Rosicrucian year. It is a two-page PDF document, so it should be readable by most phones and computers.  

THIS YEAR'S SCHEDULE WILL BECOME EVEN MORE EXCITING WITH MORE EVENTS THAN SHOWN! But these events shown will happen on those days.  MOST times are correct, but a few are not graven in stone yet.  

For example, we're changing the Peace Day celebration in the Rose garden from the evening to the early afternoon.  

Some of the locations are not yet confirmed;  this is a work in progress.  We are making this available so you can plan your year around it.

Where the event is shown in yellow, that means you can bring your friends and family. It is an open meeting.

2026 Schedule

Sunday January 11th @ Parkrose 1PM Convocation and Experiment

I invite you to join us Sunday January 12th @ Parkrose at 1 pm for our Pronaos Convocation with an experiment in "Mystical Regeneration"!

"Our spiritual regeneration rests on our ability to fully take on Rosicrucian mysticism and to put into practice the suggested experiments in the monographs in order to awaken our interior being."  This exercise will have you practicing some of these Rosicrucian secret skills to regenerate yourself on all the planes of your being. 

"The Rosicrucians have always believed that our physical body is the Temple in which the soul resides throughout the course of terrestrial life.  It should be the object of our greatest respect, for it is the supporting matter from which we can accomplish spiritual evolution."  This exercise will give us much-needed practice in soul and body regeneration. 

Discussion afterward on the topic of Beauty.

This time of year is commonly used to set goals and aspirations, and this article from the Rosicrucian Digest, focuses on one of the key elements of attaining a desire, and that is to let it go, and "dismiss" it.  It also shares how carrying and dismissing your desires causes "coincidental" and "unexpected" meetings to happen that further your goals.  This is one of the practical tools of the Rosicrucian Mystic that is good to use often and to be precise with its use!

Discussion afterward on the topic of Tolerance.
