Sunday June 22nd - Woodlawn Park Amphitheater 2PM
Peace Day Ceremony and Picnic afterwards
The annual Peace Ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 22nd, at the Portland Woodlawn Park Amphitheater, at 2 pm.
This Ceremony is Open to the public.
It is at this Ceremony that we are all reminded of our duties to be agents of Peace in the world, and we are given the meditational technique to spread Peace world wide.
After this ceremony, which lasts about 1/2 hour, we'll picnic in the park. You bring your lawn blankets, picnic baskets, (portable table if you have one) hamburgers, hot dogs, side dishes, and favorite drinks (but no alcoholic beverages!). Plus one thing to share with everyone!
(We hope you'll use your regular dishes and dishware, cups and the like, to reduce trash going to the landfill.)
Please also bring your yard games, board games, musical instruments, kites, and card games!
Why would anyone come to the Peace Ceremony?
Because it's where we join with Fratres and Sorores throughout the region and jointly set Peace into motion world wide.
I remember after last year's ceremony and the after-picnic I got to share a new passion and exercise toy with a friend and Frater who drove for hours to join us. The musician of the crystal bowls joined as well in playing.
Our group was taking photos and video and sharing their delight as we shared ours .
It was a small sampling of what it looks like to just be and enjoy each other as we played and ate together.
No one planned what to bring to cook. We just brought things, and it worked great. Let's do that again!
I look forward to seeing you all for a day of fun in the sun.
Fraternally,
Frater Aaron Howard
Sunday June 8th Whittaker Ponds 11AM
Nature Walk and Meditation
The Nature Walk and meditation at Whittaker Ponds, on Sunday June the 8th, at 11 am is open to the public!
Address:
7040 NE 47th St. Portland, OR
Here's a photo of the entry, coming from the south driving north on 47th:
Basics to bring: a hat, water, wear sturdy shoes and sunscreen/bug spray. Very nice to have and bring are a pair of binoculars, a bird i.d. book, or you can download the Merlin app onto your phone and it will help you identify birds by both sound and appearance.
Anjala will have a banner so you can recognize her, so we'll meet up near the parking lot at 10:45 a.m. We will bird and animal watch and walk for about 45 minutes, then stop in the trees near the water for a guided meditation. Bring a rug scrap, camp chair, or something you can put on the ground. The trail is paved and accessible 3/4 of the way around the Ponds for people who use walkers, but then it becomes dirt with tree roots. This is suitable for older (9 or older) children. You're likely to see beavers, nutria, kingfishers, ducks, geese, herons, egrets, frogs, turtles, fish, bald eagles, swallows, and surprise bird and animal visitors to the ponds.

At that event, we'll refine our understanding of the vital skill of Concentration with a short discourse and experiment on the skill.
Are you like me, and have you aspired to have the calm, cool, concentrated sureness of a Jedi Master? Well, one of the first things any aspirant to mental powers must perfect, is CONCENTRATION.
It is a building block that leads a practiced Rosicrucian to the ability to perform Mental Creation.
Bonus tip, you'll also be reminded how to energize water, which Grand Lodge claims is why some of its retired employees are almost centenarians!
Afterwards, bring healthy drinks and refreshments to share with each other for a social time and discussion.

April 27th - Sunday- Experiment in Vibroturgy at Wilsonville @ 2PM
What is vibroturgy you may ask?
Have you ever picked up something that belonged to someone else and got an impression as to who that person is?
Well, that's what Rosicrucians call vibroturgy.
"Broadly speaking, vibroturgy is an ability that consists of harmonizing oneself with the "memory' of a place or an object."
Every time we've done this experiment in the past, members have had impressions of the people behind the objects that are wayyyyy beyond chance guesses.
The Order has many many lessons to help you develop your intuition, and encourages you to practice your intuition often, so you gain confidence in it. This is one more way you can tap the information that is in the vibrations around you. This experiment explains scientifically, EXACTLY, how vibroturgy works and why you need to have been continuously developing your psychic centers.
Please bring some piece of jewelry that is not gender specific that belongs to you or a loved one, and that is worn often.
By this, we mean, no ring that is obviously for a woman, or a man. It could be a small chain, a simple neutral ring that either a guy or a gal could have worn, a watch, or a lapel pin. The Master will choose from the jewelry offered and use them in the experiment.
First time members please arrive by 1:30 so we can show you around and things you need to know for the ritual.
Address: 27350 Stafford Rd. Wilsonville, OR 97070
For those that may have missed it, we wanted to share the success of the experience with you from last year:
"At today's vibroturgy experiment, every person who participated as the one who sensed vibrations from their individual item, and was surprised to find how accurate their impressions were. One held a bracelet, and sensed images of moss, trees and a bridge. The former owner (now deceased) of that bracelet, loved taking photos of moss and trees. One held a necklace, and sensed water, waves and wind. The former owner (now deceased) was a windsurfer. This exercise benefits from being repeated, and accordingly, we'll schedule it again."

1:30 PM - Doors Open
2:00 PM - Doors Close for Convocation (members only)

April 13th, Sunday @ Chua Nam-Quang Temple in Portland 2pm
Dear Fratres and Sorores, bring your family and friends,
We are pleased to invite you to a special tour of Chua Nam Quang Temple in Portland, Oregon, on April 13th at 2:00 PM.
This beautiful Buddhist temple, nestled in a 3.5-acre garden sanctuary, is a place of tranquility and connection with nature. We will have the opportunity to experience the transformative space that has been lovingly cultivated over the past four years, from a bare landscape to its current log covered paths and lush edible vegetation.
What to Expect:
A Guided Tour: After the temple’s Sunday service, we’ll be guided through the grounds, exploring the 4 Holy Places, four spaces thoughtfully designed to represent significant Buddhist sites. The garden, rich with diverse flora and a growing network of mycelium beneath the mulch, also features rare mushrooms and abundant birdlife, which are cherished daily by the caretaker, Lynn.
Beautiful Pagodas & Rest Areas: We will have time to pause at one of three pagodas on the property, where we can relax on hammocks or chairs and take in the peaceful surroundings.
Location: Chua Nam-Quang Temple, 3337 NE 148th Ave, Portland, OR 97230
Images: Visit a gallery of the temple on Yelp photos here
Duration: The tour will last approximately 1 hour
Dress Code: We will ask that you remove your shoes when entering the temple itself.
Photos: Feel free to take photos during the tour, but please be respectful of the sacredness of the space.
Early attendees: We have been invited to enjoy a vegetarian lunch cooked by Lynn the caretaker. Master Kevin Pham has invited all of our members to join after their service which commences at 12:00 noon (lunch begins). I have had the opportunity to enjoy several lunches after service and throughout the week. You won't be disappointed! With seating indoors as well as outdoor options, you can find yourself at a table within or outdoors at a hand crafted log table. Enjoy the craftsmanship of the members.
After the Tour: We’ll conclude our visit by enjoying a meal at your choice of the local food trucks nearby for those that did not join the lunch at the temple. You can choose from a variety of cuisines to suit your taste. Some suggestions are listed below. The food trucks are within a very short drive from the temple down Sandy Blvd.
Restrooms are available on-site.

April 12th, Atrium Convocation Saturday @ Frogpond 2 pm
Bring your mystically-inclined friends and join us on April 12th, 2 pm, at Frogpond for our Atrium Convocation.
While Pronaos can be translated as "the entry to the Temple" an Atrium can be translated as "the entry to the Pronaos". In the Rosicrucian world, the groups have different names according to the number of people who regularly attend the meetings there. First, there are Discussion Groups, with three or more attendees, discussions, but not convocations.
Convocations can be translated as "coming together to work together" only, in our case, the work is done on both the physical & mystical planes. "They are based on a traditional ritual and have the purpose of setting into motion positive energies for humanity, while allowing the members in attendance to benefit from those energies as well."
After the convocation we will have a discussion on Rosicrucian Healing.
As well as bringing friends, bring a refreshment or two to share!
Address: 27350 Stafford Rd. Wilsonville, OR 97070
Schedule
1:30 PM - Doors Open
2:00 PM - Atrium Ceremony
3:00 PM - Refreshments

We look forward to sharing the mystical experience with you on March 20!
Members, please bring your current membership credentials to this meeting.
This Thursday's Convocation is a member's-only convocation.
We'll be meeting at Parkrose Lodge [Link for directions and parking]

2:00 PM - New Year Celebration and symbolic feast
2:30 PM - Installation of New Officers. Master briefly outlines plans for the coming year and announces committees.
3:00 PM - Social hour with refreshments contributed and shared by members. Discuss new year plans and request topics or degrees to be covered in the series of Degree Forums.
4:00 PM - Adjourn
A briefing from our most recent open meeting:
A wonderful event, thanks in great part to Chaz who fortuitously had his large portable speaker to augment the movie projector (note to self, add speaker to our presentation equipment shopping list) and his demonstrations of the whistles (some of which I yearn to hear again), and explanations of the artifacts!
Thanks to Aaron for the delicious macaroni and cheese! And thanks to all who attended and made things better with their questions. And we had two non-members who said they will soon become members.
We hope you'll enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed being there. We had 11 members and non-members in attendance where many met for the first time.

March 9th, Sunday @ Parkrose 2:00 PM :
BRING YOUR FRIENDS and join us to watch the Mystic Maya Movie
Science, Sacrament & Sacred Space.
"To the Maya, pyramids are not simply buildings or temples. They are working machines capable of harnessing, generating, and distributing powerful energies for transformation. Sacred spaces are presented and decoded as they were intended to be used: tools and portals of awakening meant to be used for raising the awareness and vibration of humankind.
This feature length film shares rare teachings and transmissions from authentic native lineage holders and documents the beliefs, rites, and mystical practices of the Mayan spiritual cosmology and the reasons for their rites and passages of initiation.
From Mayan to Egyptian and Modern Masonic Modalities. This film explores the purpose, practicality and similarity of many esoteric practices as were commonly taught in ancient mystery schools."
Bring homemade popcorn to share, or buy caramel corn to share, this will be an afternoon of humor and delight. I have two popcorn recipes I'm going to try out on you! One gourmet and the other very healthy and yummy.

February 23rd, Sunday @ Parkrose 2:00 PM : Atrium Convocation followed by a Mental Creation experiment
Wish you had been there with us! The first Atrium Group ritual, open to friends and family, was a great success. Eighteen people attended, four of them being curious friends and family, and that was missing seven of our regulars! Afterwards, the new people and newly attending members were saying what an interesting event it was and how they hoped we did it again. They had questions about neophyte initiations versus Pronaos and Temple initiations, and so forth.
We performed the Atrium Group ritual, which was new to us all, and practiced the Visualization Experiment. That means there's a slight change in the Convocation, coming up next Sunday, February 23rd, at 2 pm, where we'll enjoy the Mental Creation Experiment instead of the Visualization Experiment. The Mental Creation Experiment builds on what we learned in the Visualization Experiment.
We'll be meeting at Parkrose Lodge, [Link for directions] and not at the Grange in Wilsonville, because the Grangers are repairing a roof leak.
This Sunday's Convocation is a member's-only convocation.
Our next open meeting (non-member friends and family welcome) will be March 9th, at Parkrose Lodge. We will present the Mystical Maya movie, and will have a showing of Mayan ritual and art objects collected by one of our members during his years of going to Mayan rituals in Mexico. We will discuss those things and their similarities and differences from Rosicrucian symbols.
Address: 4812 NE 102nd Ave. Portland, OR 97220
Schedule
1:30 PM - Doors Open
2:00 PM - Doors Close for Convocation (members only)
3:00 PM - Refreshments
February 9th, Sunday 2:00 PM Parkrose : Open Atrium Ceremony
Join us at Parkrose, Sunday February 9th, 2pm, for an open Atrium Ceremony with a discussion and great refreshments afterwards!
This is an open Atrium meeting.
This means INVITE SOME SEEKING FRIENDS TO JOIN YOU THERE!

"Fratres and Sorores, although we are conscious of the importance of visualization in the mystical sense, do we really use it in our lives as well as we could? This faculty is essential not only for our spiritual quest, but also in the mundane material things of life all around us. It is with this powerful technique that we are able to realize and materialize our deepest wishes. That is why we must make every effort to learn to use visualization in every area of our lives."

January 26th, Sunday @ Parkrose 1:00 PM : Open Meeting - Show us your Cool Rocks (Crystals and fossils too!)

Bring your friends and family and a drink (non-alcoholic) or munchie to share. The building is handicapped accessible. We'll have introductions around, then begin the show and tell. Each person who is willing will talk 5 minutes about their pretties, and afterwards, we'll roam from collection to collection.
Feel free to bring interesting rocks, minerals, crystals or fossils to this show-and-tell! No scientific knowledge is required, but it's always fun to discuss:
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU? Our group uses a scientific and mystical lens to look at the world, but the natural world has a lot of meanings to different people, so this might include:
"This is the quartz crystal that started my love of geology at age 5!"
"This cobble has special meaning to my fellow tribal members."
"This 3 billion year-old fossil inspires awe every time I hold it!"
"This is one of my field samples from my research last summer."
WHERE DID YOU FIND IT? e.g. "my grandmother's yard" or "Wyoming" or "Clackamette Park" or even GPS coordinates on a map.

January 11th, Sunday Zoom Book Salon Call 9:00 AM : 'I Saw Your Light From Afar'
Dear Fratres and Sorores,
You are invited to a book salon call this weekend January 11th, 2025, at 9:00 AM PT where we will collect reviews, comments, feedback and praise for the Imperator and author of 'I Saw Your Light From Afar', Claudio Mazzucco.
Many of you have been involved in the Whatsapp book discussion since March of 2024. We read the last chapter on December 15th 2024. We have spent 9 months together engaging each other and building connections as we share our lives and inspirations. Let us come together where we can see each other's faces, hear each other's voices, and return a gift of gratitude to the Imperator for such an opportunity to connect with one another.
In the chapter dated November 2020, titled 'The Old Truths', Imperator Claudio Mazzuco invited us to send him a message saying that we have read it:
"I hope that these messages in our monthly bulletin may be useful in leading us to better reflect on our tasks and responsibilities in these times. I would be happy to have you send me a message saying that you have read it even if nothing more is said. I would feel much closer to you and hopefully you will feel closer to me."
-Claudio Mazzuco

LOVE THRU DARKNESS is a documentary featuring the life and work of Cincinnati's jazz/hip hop artist Napoleon Maddox
Based on one of Maddox’ songs, the film explores Napoleon’s life as an internationally renowned songwriter, performer and artist.
Cincinnati’s famed police brutality and the shooting of Timothy Thomas is the backdrop to the beginning of the film along with widespread displacement of West End residents as the soccer stadium demolition begins. Maddox’ music extends beyond the local to a history of an enslaved family and ultimate victory ("Twice the First Time"), to his most current album "L’Ouverture de Toussaint," who led the first successful revolution and slave revolt against the empire. Napoleon, collaborating with some of the most respected musicians alive today - Roy Nathanson and Papanosh (New York) Hamid Drake (Chicago), Curtis Fowlkes (New York), Sorg (France), Jowee Omicil (Canada), Bad Fat (France), Brian Greer (Cincinnati), his recordings are a who’s who of contemporary jazz, hip hop, and fanfare. Lacing history, personal challenges, and visions for the future, this film traces his musical journey from Cincinnati’s Beat Box Studio to the famous Parisian jazz club, New Morning and the Paris Premiere of "L’Ouverture de Toussaint.”
A film by Jean Donohue and a project of Cincinnati-based Media Working Group.
About Media Working Group - Media Working Group is the oldest collective of media artists in the region. Founded in 1987 it has been supporting independent filmmakers and has produced more than 130 films and 200 + educational events.

The Discourse that we've chosen is a special one: The Imaginal World of the Ancient Egyptians. Here is a tantalizing quote from the discourse, which goes into much more esoterica than the usual discourse:
"If the Imaginal World is generally incomprehensible to rational Egyptologists, it is only because they want to explain everything from the logical point of view and not venture onto the tortuous paths of the irrational. As far as they are concerned, this world had no useful purpose other than to nourish the imagination of the Egyptian people and to give them hope of life in the hereafter.
"As Rosicrucians, we look at the matter in a different way. We know in fact that there exists within us and outside of us a spiritual world that can be discovered, particularly by means of initiation. Furthermore, we are all familiar with the concept of the Celestial Sanctum as presented in Liber 777 (click to open PDF). This concept allows us to better understand the Imaginal World of the ancient Egyptians, because both worlds are constructed on the same principle."
So, reading between the lines above, the Egyptians and the Rosicrucians have been using image - inal thinking in the spiritual world and initiating seekers into that deliberately constructed world. Just how has that been done? Come hear the rest of the discourse and join your fellow seekers and initiates!

October 19th, Saturday Zoom 2:00 PM : Are Plants Conscious? Revealing the Hidden Nature of Plant Intelligence - Julian Johnson
Just how many human senses do plants have?
Did you know that plants have all of the five human senses?
The abilities to smell, taste, hear, see and touch?
Consider for a moment the grass “feels, hears, smells, tastes, touches” when you walk through it wearing shoes.
What would be different for the grass if you walked through it barefoot?
What would the experiences be like for you?
Join us by Zoom on Saturday, October 19th, at 2 pm for a presentation by Fr. Julian Johnson titled: Are Plants conscious?
Revealing the Hidden Nature of Plant Intelligence.
You’ll find the zoom link in the event notice on the Rosicrucian Community pages.

September 22nd
Hello Sorors and Fraters!
It has been a hot, active and transformative summer, but now we are easing into a proper Fall, where we harvest our garden crops, and also harvest and study the results of the metaphysical seeds we have planted.
What are metaphysical seeds?
If you attended the last Convocation you got to practice the Rosicrucian techniques of Mental Creation.
We concentrated, contemplated what we wished to bring into our lives, and then mentally created our thoughts and gave them sensory relevance, emotional impact, and released them into the Cosmic with the understanding that if our desires supported the Greater Good, they would materialize. (Of course I'm not telling you the full technique. . . you should have been there! Or if you wish, you could go back and review your monographs for the instructions on how to do this vital Rosicrucian skill.)
Most of you told me that you prefer being notified of meetings by email, so as your Master/Servant, you'll be receiving more frequent emails (even though we do also have Facebook pages, a Blog page with the occasional interesting article you'll find nowhere else, a web page with quarterly updates and messages from our Grand Councilor, and the Rosicrucian Community Oregon page!
If you want links or instructions as to how to participate in any of these, drop me a line at oregon@amorc.rosicrucian.org.) All of these are ways that you can be in contact with each other.
When I last mentioned these, many of you said, "huh" and "okay", but still responded "give me the emails". "As You Wish!"
I recently got an email from a Frater in Eugene who wished he could be meeting with us and wondered if a carpool was possible. (Not yet.)
It is a privilege to have a group where we can meet and share experiences with other Rosicrucians. We don't share member addresses with each other, but if you are indeed interested in carpooling, we will let our keeper of the addresses know and see what can be arranged. (Maybe members could host long-distance visiting members overnight!
I remember going to a couple of AMORC conventions in San Jose and arranging to stay in a member's home, and paying them a modest $$ amount in AMRA/Gratitude).
Next weekend, Sunday, September 22nd, we're meeting at the Frog Pond Grange, in Wilsonville, which is a place we chose, to be closer to our Salem members who often make the trek up to join us.
We're (that's me and any of you who wish to join me) are going to have the privilege of performing the simple and profound outdoor Memorial (Pyramid Ceremony) on the very day of the Autumnal Equinox (which occurs at 5:44 a.m.)
Will you be there, and will you bring a friend, family member, and a big rock? Yes, find a big beautiful rock (my favorite is a chunk of red Jasper about 5 lbs) and bring it with you. Find a rock for your friend too, because we'll use them to build a symbolic pyramid. The rocks, not the friends! This is an open meeting. Bring folks age 18 and above who are curious about who we are and what we do.
We'll then go inside, partake of refreshments and have a brief discussion afterwards on the question: Which Rosicrucian person or book has most influenced you?
Memorial Pyramid Ceremony/Autumnal Equinox
Address: 27350 Stafford Rd. Wilsonville, OR 97070
This is a ceremony we prefer to hold outdoors, and the weather looks like it will cooperate. The Grange has an amazing heritage evergreen tree that we'll gather under. THE GROUND IS NOT SMOOTH AND PARKLIKE, ITS BUMPY. Be careful walking.
BRING YOUR OWN LAWN CHAIRS!
THIS WILL NOT BE THE USUAL CONVOCATION, this will be much more casual. Our greeters will show you around the Grange, starting at 12:30 PM, and share with you some of the symbolism you'll see, answer your questions, and acquaint you with the ritual to be performed.
Schedule
1:00 PM - Ritual begins
1:45 (approximately) PM - Pack your rocks and lawn chairs, go inside, talk and enjoy snacks
2:30 PM You develop these if you wish, with my guidance and assistance. Form some committees to plan good times for next year! ALSO KNOWN AS MENTAL CREATION, parts 1, 2, and 3.
Plan an event where a group of us members and families take the train down to a Grand Lodge in San Jose, Ca for a Metaphysical Weekend (date to be determined)
Plan a Sound Healing seminar (one or two-day) at the Oregon Coast
Plan a series of workshops (live and also on Zoom) where we share our curiosity, art, travels and expertise on many things Egyptian. Shall we invite in guest speakers?
Plan an event or events which will be fun to bring your kids to. Extra points if the event or events have a metaphysical part to them, such as a walk in the woods to experience forest bathing, or even plain old fun events like going to the Enchanted Gardens, or the Zoo, or miniature golf, or labyrinth walking, or?
This is the time of year I start making plans for the next year. I have four guest stars I'm even now contacting to host Zoom meetings for us, but there are a lot of us who prefer meeting in person. But we have members attend our Zoom events from lands far, far away and we like staying connected. Do let me hear from you and whether you'd like to help mentally create and plan any of these fun times!

August 31st, Saturday Zoom 11:00 AM : Experiencing the Harmony of the Rosicrucian Peace Garden - James Bording
The theme of nature AND Egyptian gardening traditions will be visited in this presentation called, Experiencing the Harmony of the Rosicrucian Peace Garden. Join James Bording, the head gardener at Rosicrucian Park, on a virtual tour of the serene Rosicrucian Peace Garden.
Explore its authentic ancient Egyptian design, uncover hidden symbolic meanings, and acquaint yourself with the native Egyptian plant life nurtured here. Together, we delve into the ancient Egyptian belief that the harmony of gardens and temples serve as earthly mirrors of the divine cosmos. Finally, we meditate on how we might use this ancient wisdom to cultivate harmony and order in our own lives.
Register for this at the Rosicrucian Community events page. (link coming soon)
August 17th, Saturday Zoom 2:00-3:15 PM : The Initiator Ascent of the Ladder of Love - Hugh McCague
The theme of Love, continued. One of the foundational and most deepening conveyances of Western philosophy is given by the priestess and prophetess Diotima of Mantinea in Plato’s Symposium. She describes an initiatory progression into the realization and experience of the increasingly expansive types of love from the sensual to the eternal. In this video, we consider the practical application of these maturing insights for the student of life and mysticism. Join Hugh McCague as we continue to explore Rosicrucian laws and principles and their application for Self-Mastery and harmonious living.

July 18th THURSDAY, 1pm
The themes of this year are Love and oneness with Nature. A soror wondered if we could walk some labyrinths, and yes we can! If you can take the time off during the early afternoon, bring your friends and join us at the labyrinth behind Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church, 5441 SE Belmont St.
It is grassy and not paved, so may not be suitable for people using walkers. Walking labyrinths helps calm the wandering thoughts and brings a person in touch with their environment.
After the walk, we can go inside to the Taborspace café (at 5441 SE Belmont St. Portland, OR 97215 ), get drinks and snacks (buy your own) and go into the meeting hall to discuss our insights from the walk, ask and answer questions.
July 14th Sunday at Parkrose:
The events of this year are helping us generate Love and oneness with Nature. Last month, we met on a lofty hilltop and joined our meditating selves with our fraters and sorors and concerned humans worldwide in the Rosicrucian meditation for Peace.
In our next Convocation we will practice the Aura Stimulation Experiment in our Pronaos.
"Our aura reveals our general well-being at any given moment. This poses a challenge to spiritual alchemy, which we need in order to liberate ourselves, so that we may become perfect agents of divine law. Adding to this the idea that when the majority of humanity's auras attain a significant level of awareness, then the aura of the Earth will also become more pure, which translates into a more spiritually elevated collective consciousness. From that moment onward we will begin our final reintegration."
The discussion afterwards during the social hour will share Rosicrucian techniques to test and strengthen the aura.

June 23rd
A vote of the members selected the Stonehenge replica (First World War memorial) site in Maryhill, WA. (The builder of this site, Mr. Hill, erroneously believed that the original Stonehenge was constructed as a place of human sacrifice. Concluding there was a parallel between the loss of life in WWI and the sacrifices at ancient Stonehenge, he set out to build a replica on the cliffs of the Columbia as a reminder of those sacrifices and the “incredible folly” of the war.)
Though it is a bit of a drive, we can help you arrange carpools with other members. Email oregon@amorc.rosicrucian.org and state what city you'd be leaving from if you're driving or if you want to share a car. Bring comfortable folding chairs with you. Prepare for sun and wind and its cool at night.
Schedule:
11:00 am, at the Stonehenge replica war memorial https://www.maryhillmuseum.org/outside/stonehenge-memorial
Peace Ceremony A ceremony where we remind ourselves of our roles to be agents of peace.
11:30 am, at the Stonehenge replica war memorial

Event: Harmonization with the 4 Basic Elements
Comic book geeks will remember the Green Lantern had to stick his ring into a (let’s face it) magic lantern to get “a variety of extraordinary powers, all of which come from imagination, fearlessness, and the electromagnetic spectrum of emotional willpower.” [Wikipedia].
Would you like to know how to plug into the electromagnetic spectrum of the four elements and improve your imagination and fearlessness? Also your health? And the Universal Macrocosm?
Join us this Sunday for our resonant Convocation and Experiment. Learn to use the psychic tools that are your birthright! Afterwards, let’s discuss the experiment, maybe discuss Saturday’s Zoom on the Language of our Inner Voice, share some sweet and savory snacks, and socialize!

The language of our Inner Voice, by presenter Soror Ese Magege:
Following our experiment on Vibroturgy, with results that depended on developing our psychic senses, we now offer this Rosicrucian video.
When we make decisions, a little voice from our subconscious mind may speak to us. Occasionally, we listen, and at other times, we choose to follow our conscious mind. This video explores ways to recognize the Inner Voice and cultivate a habit of true listening to allow the Spiritual Self to guide us.
When we struggle with a decision, pausing and asking ourselves, “What will love do?” may be all we require to expand our mental state.
Let us rejoice in nature with a guided walk by Master Anjala at Steigerwald Nature park!
Sunday, May 19th, 9:00 a.m., join Anjala Ehelebe for easy, accessible birding and nature lore at Steigerwald National Wildlife Refuge. All are welcome; this will be geared for beginning to intermediate level birders.
Meeting Location: the parking lot for Steigerwald Lake NWR is off SR 14 east of Washougal (45.571534, -122.320238). I'll have a bright banner so you can find me. The main Refuge entrance has a parking lot with one ADA van accessible spot/unloading area and one additional ADA accessible parking spot on the east side of the lot near the trailhead kiosk.
34301 SE Lewis and Clark Hwy Washougal, WA 98671
https://www.fws.gov/refuge/steigerwald-lake
The birdwalk can be a 3.5 mile out and back hike at a 1 A classification for speed and slope (relatively slow and flat terrain) but we'll adjust for the abilities of those who come.
Dress for possible sun, wind and/or rain.
You may wish to download the Merlin application onto your cell phone, it helps identify birds by sounds and colors. E-bird is a fun one, and so is iNaturalist.
Bring your binoculars and bird i.d. books. Also a water bottle. The restrooms are near the parking lot but there are none in the refuge, so hydrate mindfully.
Please contact Anjala at oregon@amorc.rosicrucian.org to RSVP so she knows to wait for you.
This was soo good! Three were in attendance for this short adventure. We walked out onto the dyke and caught sight of two hawks, a flock of turkey vultures circling over the trees, a handful of swallows, a few red winged blackbirds, one of which flew directly over our heads as one onlooker was observing it with binoculars, a handful of ducks and geese as well as 4 or 5 beautiful long necked egrets.
A promising adventure that will be revisited in the future. Won't you join us?

April 28th Experiment in Vibroturgy at Wilsonville
We conducted a very fun experiment on Vibroturgy!
Wilsonville, OR 97070
For those that may have missed it, we wanted to share the success of the experience with you.
What did you miss?
"At today's vibroturgy experiment, every person who participated as the one who sensed vibrations from their individual item, and was surprised to find how accurate their impressions were. One held a bracelet, and sensed images of moss, trees and a bridge. The former owner (now deceased) of that bracelet, loved taking photos of moss and trees. One held a necklace, and sensed water, waves and wind. The former owner (now deceased) was a windsurfer. This exercise benefits from being repeated, and accordingly, we'll schedule it again."

This is open to your friends and family, so invite them already!
Join us at Frog Pond Grange (27350 Stafford Rd; Wilsonville, OR 97070) on Sunday Mar 24th, 2pm, for a Convocation with an experiment in Awakening of the Psychic Centers, great refreshments afterwards, and then follow-up experiments dowsing with pendulums!
Last meeting we were introduced to dowsing rods, and some actually found hidden candy with them. We will continue to fine tune our toolbox on discovering hidden mysteries this meeting. Bring your rods and pendulums! Things will be hidden all over the place! Members only from 2pm - 3pm. Open to all at 3pm.
Members: Even though time doesn't exist, do be there early because we lock the door at 2pm.

Sunday, Feb 11th, 2:00 pm at Parkrose: You asked for more experiments today will be full of mystical experiences! Join us for a convocation plus an experiment showcasing some techniques of Mystical Regeneration!
"Since each human being constitutes one cell of the great body of humanity, any action undertaken to regenerate oneself individually produces a collective regeneration of the human species." Simply put, improve yourself, and you'll improve the world!
Afterwards we'll share conversation, refreshments, and then experiment with dowsing. Those who have them, bring your rods, your forked twigs, and your pendulums. We're going to find things hidden around the Lodge, and try out a bit of color dowsing.
Speaking of finding things, you can find parking in front of the lodge, and even more parking in the lot next door (north of) to Parkrose Lodge, in the lot of ABC fire extinguishers. Or you can skip the parking and get off the bus in front of ABC parking and walk over to the building. If you go up the driveway, the back entrance is wheelchair accessible. There is not convenient parking in back of the building so we advise parking in front or next door and saving the back for people with accessibility needs.
Sunday, Feb 25th, 2:00 pm at Wilsonville: we'll have the experiment called Time Travel, "the point of which is to demonstrate that time is a purely objective idea and that it is possible to transcend the limits that it imposes on our wakeful state."

Sunday, Jan 14th, 1:00 pm at Parkrose: Canceled due to heavy snow.

Rosicrucian Writers
In the January 1965 issue of the Rosicrucian Digest there was a highly insightful and inspiring article by Past Imperator Ralph M. Lewis entitled “Mysticism in the Modern World.” Part of that article discussed the five phases of the mystical life. We will follow up and expand on the discussion on those phases or stages.
The latest issue of the Rosicrucian Digest magazine features Rosicrucian writers. In this workshop, Grand Master Julie Scott will share some of their inspiring work and will lead participants step by step in writing about one true thing about their journey on the mystical path. Please bring a piece of paper and something to write with.

Rosicrucian Exercises: A Foundation for Daily Living III
The studies of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC systematically guide us in developing Self-Mastery and ways to be of service. Part of this process is the crucial practice of the Rosicrucian exercises. We will do some of these mystical exercises in an integrated manner including meditation, visualization, metaphysical aid, and more. Hugh McCague will guide us through this series of exercises in an educational, enriching, and rejuvenating way for our experience of the Rosicrucian teachings as the foundation for our daily living.

Mystical Statuary of the World II: The Ecstasy of St. Teresa
The human visage, hand gestures and form can be keys to draw forth and realize the presence of the Divine Within, the Master Within. We will see how this urge for illumination has expressed itself through sculpture for the great enrichment of us all and in the remembrance of our true nature. We will focus on the Baroque sacred space and masterwork The Ecstasy of St. Teresa by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Join Hugh McCague, our guide, as we experience how Rosicrucian laws and principles can make a great difference in fully appreciating what lies before and within us.

The Five Stages of Mystical Unfoldment II
In the January 1965 issue of the Rosicrucian Digest there was a highly insightful and inspiring article by Past Imperator Ralph M. Lewis entitled “Mysticism in the Modern World.” Part of that article discussed the five phases of the mystical life. We will continue to follow up and expand on the discussion on those phases or stages by considering their expression in our lives and the lives of such mystics and humanitarian workers as Catherine of Siena, Teresa of Avila, and Florence Nightingale. These stages are known as the Awakening, Purgation, Illumination, Dark Night of the Soul, and Union. Our maturation and evolvement on the mystical path and attainment of Self-Mastery involve these successive stages of unfoldment. Join Hugh McCague as we continue to explore how the application of Rosicrucian laws and principles increases our well-being and capacity for service.

Finding Inner Balance in Challenges with Ese Magege
Some of the greatest benefits of our studies in the order is the wealth of wisdom we acquire towards mastery of self. By walking the path of wisdom, we gain spiritual knowledge of our connectedness to the Cosmos and the universal intelligence, the source of all life and all supplies. We learn spiritual principles and practices to develop the faculties of the inner self so we may be receptive to the Cosmic’s impressions, transmit ideas, and express the perfection of our divine nature. We discover that the application of certain spiritual principles leads to definite results. We soon find that we can create miracles each day of our lives. We also realize that the secret to overcoming the limits of nature involves our transformation beyond the tendencies of human nature and that miracles occur when there has been a spiritual change within our inner character. This presentation will explore spiritual principles for finding inner balance in challenging times.

Developing Our Connections with Our World with Michael Shaluly
Late Imperator Ralph M. Lewis stated that consciousness is not a “thing” of the material world, but rather a condition arising from the interaction of “things”. We will explore the beauty and grandeur of this holy gift we each have...the gift and privilege of conscious interaction with Creation.

Another Magical Egypt Zoom presentation, 3-4:15 pm. Members only.
Season 1, Episode 2 "The Old Kingdom and the Older Kingdom Still!"
This non-Rosicrucian series goes into scholarly depth about the magic, wisdom and science of ancient Egypt. From the producers:
"John Anthony West explores architectural anomalies and other evidence of an advanced civilization predating the ancient Egyptians. Across Egypt, the many architectural engineering artistic and scientific wonders still defy explanation. They mysterious Oserion appears to already have been an ancient ruin when it was "uncovered" by Seti I during the construction of the Temple of Abydos in the First Dynasty. New developments in the age of the sphinx? Debate. In the Cairo museum is a stella, which describes reparations to the great sphinx performed by the Father of the traditionally credited builder. Does the great sphinx conceal its date of construction in the age of Leo?"
Register in advance for this meeting by going to the event link at the Rosicrucian Community. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

The Rise of the Master Within
The concept of the Master Within, or Divine Within, is central to the Rosicrucian way of life, which is unique, yet universal, for each student. What are the different ways that the Master Within is experienced? Is it our true nature that we are all seeking? Is its guidance infallible? What is its relationship to spiritual teachers? How do we increasingly realize it, express it, and be it? Join Hugh McCague as we continue to explore how Rosicrucian laws and principles increase our well-being and capacity for service.

The Initiatory Ascent of the Ladder of Love
One of the foundational and most deepening conveyances of Western philosophy is given by the priestess and prophetess Diotima of Mantinea in Plato’s Symposium. She describes an initiatory progression into the realization and experience of the increasingly expansive types of love from the sensual to the eternal. We will consider the practical application of these maturing insights for the student of life and mysticism. Join Hugh McCague as we continue to explore Rosicrucian laws and principles and their application for Self-Mastery and harmonious living.

Join Enneadic Star Pronaos for an open meeting, (bring your curious non-member friends) IN PERSON, discussing the topic of Being a Mystic and Being Sane!
We're meeting at the Frog Pond Grange on Sunday, October the 23rd 2022, 1:30 pm to 3:00 at the wheelchair accessible Frog Pond Grange in Wilsonville. .
Former Imperator H.S. Lewis wrote this article for the benefit of people trying to choose between "spiritual" movements. He asks: "Why is it that so many otherwise intelligent, rational human beings seem to believe that a study of metaphysics or of the mystical laws, principles, and facts of life must be accompanied by impossible and often inane assertions, implications and expectations? Is it not possible to be a student of mysticism and still be sane?"
We will not be checking your vaccination status, but do request that you wear a mask, except when eating and drinking.
Starting at 1:30 we have an
Introduction to the Rosicrucian Order and the local group.
Demonstration of vowel sounds and their effect on the body.
Presentation of the Sane Mystic article.
