Greetings Beloved Fraters and Sorors,
Master Bill Fickas asked me to serve as Master of Mountain Rose Pronaos and I have accepted. Soror Karen Wark had indicated this was permissible, given the circumstances. She also described how Grand Master Julie Scott, who never turned down a request to serve, finished out her term as an AMORC officer while simultaneously taking up the office of Grand Master.
Although I knew this would be an additional workload to my responsibilities as Regional Monitor, I could do no different. I have done this job before, and I believe in the Rosicrucian ideals. I could choose fear, or I could choose love. I choose love. And I choose to love fearlessly.
I will not be gentle in my assessment of MRP at this point. Things look grim for the continued existence of this affiliated body. We are burning through our cash reserves at a steady rate while not being able to host in-person events due to the pandemic. This impacted our revenue flows which depends on individual AMRA. It also impacted our ability to draw new seekers. But the pandemic only exposed a long term decline in membership and participation. AMRA donations have been lean for a long time, unsustainably lean. Even without the pandemic, this is where we were headed. MRP is also facing a lease renewal in August, the outcome of which is not known.
Mountain Rose Pronaos needs a miracle. Baruch Spinoza said there are no such things as miracles. He did not say that miraculous things did not occur, but that they occurred as a result of the application of the universal laws, the same universal laws that we, as Rosicrucian students, study and practice every day: visualization, mental creation, intent, love. Or are these things we just talk about?
We have already conducted several Revitalization meetings in which we looked at our challenges and handicaps, as well as strengths and resources. We know what we have and what we are capable of creating. We know what we need to do. We are ready to take the next step, and that will only happen if members show up.
Covid is fading and it is time to re-open the Pronaos, but I need help. Some uncomfortable changes need to be made in order for us to keep it alive. But mostly, it is going to require the work of people who want to have a place to meet and study. There is so much going on in AMORC now, that we can share and grow with. Who will come and live fearlessly? Who will stand with me to manifest a miracle? What does Mountain Rose Pronaos mean to you?
I look back on all the fraters and sorors whose love and dedication to the Order inspire me with gratitude. I look forward with a clear vision to a world made better with Rosicrucian love and wisdom. I look upward to the Cosmic and I am filled with vision and the strength of Natural Law. Looking within, my heart is full of love and peace.
So Mote it Be!
From All Points of the Triangle,
Ed Hanson, Master, Mountain Rose Pronaos and Regional Monitor for Colorado
