There are many large western style supermarkets, malls and shopping centres in Thailand. You can buy most items that you need locally.
You will arrive in Thailand on a 90 day non-immigrant visa B. We realise this may seem strange but please do not panic - we can only apply for your work permit and extension to the visa once you are here. Depending on what time you arrive, be prepared for a wait at customs - but it will be worth it. Suvanabhumi airport ("Su-wan-na-poom") can be extremely busy at times. Present your passport and landing card at the desk and they will help you through the process. It usually involves a photo and various stamps going in to your passport.
After you have collected your bags, leave the baggage claim area and head towards the Meeting Point - INSERT MEETING POINT. Waiting there will be a group of smiling faces of ANS staff or our representatives who will meet and greet you. Transportation from the airport to your accommodation at the Hotel will be organised. You may end up sharing a minibus with your new colleagues. At your Hotel, a member of HR staff will be on hand for any last minute questions.
The benefit of living in the hotel for the first few weeks is that you will be able to walk to school. Depending on where you live will depend on what your transport preferences might be. Taxis and the BTS are cheap and frequent. If you plan on using the BTS regularly, it would be useful to get a Rabbit Card, this allows you to tap the turnstile as you enter and leave the train station rather than getting a ticket each time. To register for a Rabbit Card, you will need your passport.
The hotel will have wireless internet, so that you can connect when you arrive.
SIM Card Kiosks at the airport are plentiful. There are currently four major mobile operators in Thailand: AIS, DTAC, TrueMove and TOT. These operators offer various mobile services and offer a variety of prepaid, postpaid and eSim offers. They also have retail outlets located in shopping malls which often have convenient opening times, if you have any queries. Most providers also have apps so you can pay your bills, track your usage and buy extra packs if needed.
Part of the Induction Week includes information about getting a SIM card or other facilities you may wish to sign up for, including TV and internet packages.
A simplified timetable will be made available soon, however our main aim for the induction week is to get you acclimatised to your new surroundings and school. Meetings with colleagues and teams will be organised, as well as specific training sessions to align yo to our uniuqe approach to Thinking.
