Transition Tips & Advice
Most new staff would find it useful to know that when you sign your accommodation contract (after the first month at the Holiday Inn Express), you will need 2 months’ deposit plus the first month’s rent. To make your transition easier, we recommend that you have accessible funds to cover this, as well as spending money in your first month. Talk to your buddy about further information about the amount of money you might need.
Many condos and apartments are available to fit a wide range of tastes and budgets. The best thing to do is speak to existing staff when you arrive. On average our staff spend between 15000-25000 Baht per month for a modern 1-2 bedroom apartment with a gym and swimming pool.
Renting a condo is easily done in Bangkok and you can usually move in as soon as you have paid the first two months rent and the security deposit, sometimes even on the same day as you viewed it. Many staff use apps such as DD Properties to view condos before contacting agents through the app to arrange a booking. Agents will typically then keep working to try and find you a place to suit your needs, so finding somewhere to stay in Bangkok is easy.

Popular areas to stay are usually close to a BTS.
Phaya Thai/Ratchathewi – Closest areas to school meaning an easy walk to work. There are a number of food and bar options available.
Ari – Lots of street food, great restaurants and Villa supermarket. Ari is the location of choice for many staff who enjoy cafes, trees and a quieter space in this busy city.
Asok – A more central, bustling and lively location and a short taxi/BTS ride to work. Shopping malls and a wide range of bars and restaurants are right on your doorstep.
There are also other areas in which our staff live that you may prefer. Before moving out of Holiday Inn Express, it’s a good idea to visit different neighbourhoods and get a feel for what you would like.
