April Walk to School Week - Walking With Wildlife Theme! Make a pledge to walk, cycle scoot to school. Help us make our wildways trails by entering the poster competition
May - Visit over 20 Nature-Friendly gardens on the Open Day. 2025 17th May and join in on the Walking with Wildlife Community Fayre.
May- Pledge to participate in No Mow May next month, print your sign and get it ready to display in your front garden.
All year - Get Growing Veg together with neighbours with Alwoodley Incredible Edible.
May - Freshen up the air we breathe. Walk, Cycle or Scoot to school with your primary school children during the Ward Wide Walk to School Week. Date TBA. Can you carry this forward all year?
Get involved with existing friends of groups: Friends of Adel Woods, Friends of Wigton Moor, Friends of Nursery Heath, Friends of Gair Woods, or Friends of Verity Copse to help look after local green spaces in Alwoodley.
All Year - Do you live near a green space with no volunteer group looking after it? Want to help? Please let us know.
All Year - Join the 100 Nature Friendly Gardens Club to foster biodiversity on your own private land.
All Year - Join the Alwoodley Orchardists to look after local fruit trees and plant new ones across Alwoodley.
SNature Corridors. Do you live on a proposed Nature Corridor? Help ensure that animals can safely travel between green spaces by creating Nature Corridors along our residential streets and private gardens.
