Pop Up Bike Repair
One goal of Walk to School Week is to encourage at least ten minutes of active travel, including walking, cycling , or scooting to school, and around Alwoodley generally!
We're so thrilled that we've received funding to offer FREE pop up bike repair on school sites in the weeks leading up to the Ward Wide Walk to School Week. Matthew and his team from Kovrlijaandco (https://kovrlijaandco.co.uk/) mobile bike repair on board to provide this service. Children and their families are very welcome to bring both adult and children's bikes for a tune-up.
Pre-Booking
Please register bike(s) in advance to help us plan and help our volunteers get you in and out efficiently.
Volunteer Sign Up
At each site, we hope a team of volunteers from each school community and active Alwoodley 2030 members will help make it possible to fix a lot of bikes! If you'd like to help out to be a greeter, to check in/out bikes, to make posters, to help with bike fixing, and more, please sign up here.
On site bike repair will take place on the following dates:
8th April - Brodetsky Primary
18th April - St Paul's Primary School
19th April - Wigton Moor Primary School
23rd April - Highfield Prmary
25th April - Alwoodley Primary
TBC - Allerton C of E Primary
Note that school pop up shops are only for children and families from each school.
Bike Drop Off
Bring bikes and check them in at your school's designated drop off point at school drop off time. ou may need to wait in the queue for a few minutes after you drop your child off. Arriving a few minutes early will also help.
Bike Collection
Collect bikes at pickup time at the same designated location.
