Call for Proposals

The Call for Proposals for ALWC2020 has closed.

Thank you so much for submitting proposals! Your proposal is currently under review, and we will notify your final status no later than mid January 2020.

Proposal Guidelines

We invite proposals on original research or pedagogical practices. There are three types of proposals.

  • Presentations: 30-minute presentations (20-minute talk and 10-minute Q&A). This session is for presentation/demonstration on original research or pedagogical practices related to TESOL and applied linguistics.
  • Workshops: 40-minute workshop. Workshop sessions provide participants with "hands on" experience in developing methods and materials, analyzing research data, or solving a specific research/teaching problem. Several classrooms at LeChase hall (conference venue) are equipped with multiple whiteboards (up to 3). Presenters can specify the numbers of whiteboards for your presentations at the proposal submission page.
  • Poster presentations: Posters will be displayed for a one-hour session. Poster presentations to be displayed for one-hour block of time. Poster presentations are intended to feature successful lessons, projects, reports on work in progress, and research studies.

Although preference will be given to proposals related to the conference theme, submissions relevant to applied linguistics are still encouraged.
