Logging In
The power button for the teacher computer is in the same spot as the student computers, but MUCH harder to reach (sorry!). The login is:
Name: 219s
Password: asdf1234
Troubleshooting
If you accidentally close a tab > Windows + Shift + T
If you can’t get into any of my files, just ditch my lesson plans and do the emergency sub plans below
The projector controls are located on the wall to the right of the whiteboard (behind the teacher computer). Every time it gets turned on, the volume goes back down and you’ll have to turn it back up to about 4 lights bright.
There’s a microphone you can use that’s on a lanyard, charging on the bookshelf behind the teacher computer. Turn it off and return it to the charger at the end of the day.
How to take over the student computers
Go to Lanschool
Keyboard shortcut Windows + A
Either choose "Show Teacher" or choose "Blank Screens" from the toolbar. When done, hit 'stop' or click on the button again
How to do a "Show & Share"
Keyboard shortcut Windows + A
Click on the student computer and choose 'Show Student' from the toolbar
First of the Day
Make sure all the computers are turned on (power button on the back of the silver hard drive box). Log into the teacher computer (Name: 219s Password: asdf1234) Look through tabs for each class. Turn the poster on the door to green for all grades.
End of the Day
Computers will turn themselves off later - wipe down the keyboards and mice with the wipes at the end of each row. Push all chairs in for custodial to vacuum. Turn off the lights and leave the door unlocked.
Welcome them at the door with a squirt of hand sanitizer and let them know if the door poster is on green (they should login and do a self-starter) or on red (keep their chairs back and listen for instructions). They know where to sit. Take the picture seating chart and mark down any students who are absent while they're logging in/doing their self-starter. The picture seating chart should also help you know their names (they don't always remember to wear their name tags).
1st grade exception:
Before they come in, pass our their pink log-in table tents (located in the cabinet next to the front door). They usually need help logging in and reminders to go to the 1st grade page. They don't have a self-starter box, but there is a pink box on the right with the links for the day in it.
1st grade:
They log in with their username/ password table tents go to their grade page, and they start in Typing Club while you walk around helping students log in and take roll.
Lesson (25 mins): Their lessons and links are posted on their grade page.
2nd/3rd grade:
Starter (15 minutes): Log in, go to their grade page, and do whatever is in their Self-Starter box while you walk around helping students log in and take roll.
Lesson (25 mins): Their lessons and links are posted on their grade page.
4th-6th grade:
Starter (15 minutes): These grades fill out their own attendance (on their grade page) on a Google Form, then go on to do whatever is in their Self-Starter box.
Lesson (25 mins): Their lessons are posted on Google Classroom for them, and typically have a tutorial video and a link to the app they're going to be using. Have them split their screens and get to work!
4th-6th grade: Five minutes before the end of class, have them turn in their assignment on Google Classroom.
Everyone: Five minutes before the end of class, give them a 2-minute warning to until Log Out time. With 3 minutes left, log out of their games or apps, then log out of the computer. Once they're logged out, they push their chairs all the way back to the wall or the desk behind them, and sit in their seats. If they used their headphones, they should hang them back up.
Then line up row by row (they walk down their rows towards the windows to line up) at the front of the room in ABC order.
For the last class of the day: we line up in 2 rows at the front of the class - carpool kids against the computers and bus/walkers against the wall/whiteboard. We release the carpool kids at 3:20 to leave the school, and the classroom teacher will take the other line back to their room.
Teacher <points to eyes with both hands>: "Eyes Up!"
Class in unison <puts both hands in the sky>: "Hands up!"
It takes their hands away from the distraction of their mouse and keyboard so they can focus on the next instruction.
------------------------------------------
Only one girl and one boy can go to the bathroom at a time (bathrooms are across the stairwell). They take a cone that is next to the front door, and return it when they come back.
Schedule
xxx
I see 31 classes on a 3-week rotating schedule (10/11 classes a week, 5/6 a day, with each class coming twice that week). Younger grades on W/F and older grades on T/Th for 45 minutes of instruction. Look at the "Week of..." list, find today's date, and match it with the color coded schedule. The rotations are colored green, purple and blue and the classes are color-coded as well:
1st grade - pink
2nd grade - green
3rd grade - red
4th grade - orange
5th grade - blue
6th grade - purple

Emergency Instructions
Earthquake: Instruct students to get under their desks, turn the chair around and pull it to the desk (so the high back is against the desk and helps keep debris out). Stay until safe or drill is over.
Fire Drill: Grab the Seating Chart clipboard and a dry erase marker. Have the students line up in ABC order. Turn off the lights and instruct the last student to close the door. Lead the class out the front doors, across the parking lot, and have them line up directly to the left of the school sign. Check to make sure each student is present. If all the students are present (who are not absent that day), write the teacher's name on the sheet protector on the green side and hold it up. If you're missing a student, write the teacher's name on the sheet protector on the red side and an admin will come talk to you. Once the all clear is made, lead the class back to the computer lab.
Lockdown: Instruct the students to try to turn off their monitors (some are locked and can't turn off) and get under their desks. Pull their chairs in and stay quiet. Close and lock the door. Turn off the lights. Sit under any computer 34-36 and pull the chair in. Do not unlock the door for anyone except front office.
Lockout: Proceed with class as normal, but shut and lock the door. No one is allowed to go into the halls at this time until the lockout has been lifted (no bathroom or water breaks).
