1. Briefly discuss what the students learned from the videos last night.

• Point out that if there are two numbers with the same frequency and they occur most often, both of these numbers are the mode. If each number appears only once, there is no mode.
• Also point out that if the median is between two numbers and they can't figure out exactly what the median is, they average those two numbers.
  • i.e. add those two numbers together and divide by 2. This is the median.

2. Pose the following to the students:

You've got people with cookies. But each person has a different amount. 6, 4, 5, 3, 6, 8, 3, 9, 2, 4. I want to even out the cookies so every one has the same amount. How much will each have when I'm finished?

3. Give the students some time to investigate the problem above to create a better understanding of mean.

4. Have students find the mean, median, and mode of their own data set.

5. When finished, Go Math
