This may take 1-2 days depending on how the students are doing. Feel free to send some of the book work home as homework and continue the activities the next day.

Game

1. Cut out the student expressions and expressions groups on the attachment below (you can do this individually or put the students in small groups to work together. If you choose to do it individually just print multiple copies of the student expressions and pass out)
2. Place the answer expressions around the room
3. Hand each group (or student) 1 expression
4. For their given expression, each student needs to write down as many equivalent expressions as they can think of. They need to find at least one way combining like terms, and one way using the distributive property
5. When you say go, they need to go find their equivalent expressions around the room
6. Hand groups a new starting expression and play again
