Malpils Vidusskola, Sigulda, Latvia
From April 7th to 13th, 12 of our 3rd of ESO students travel to Mãlpils (Latvia). They spend a whole week in a hosting family. They work on the project: LandART with the following objectives:
Promote social cohesion by carrying out a large-scale collective artistic intervention, which implies group decision-making, respect for the variety of opinions, cultural diversity, and the commitment to teamwork for a common goal.
Add value to a piece of art from natural and recycled materials, aiming to materialize SDG 12 (Responsible production and consumption), promote knowledge of the biodiversity of the environment and make visible the potential of the natural environment as a learning resource.

During our second day, we participated in a ceramic workshop to stimulate creativity. We also started building the cover for the “twin” station using the collected materials.
To finish the day, we practiced volleyball and took part in other sports activities together with the local students.

In the morning, we worked with the Latvian students on some coding challenges . It was great to team up and help each other solve the tasks – we learned a lot while having fun!
The most exciting part of the day was the live connection between Malpils and Balaguer. We managed to collect data at the same time from both “Twin” stations!
