BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Location: Hariharpurgadhi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhuli Nepal
Cost: Free! We provide 3 meals a day on each working day, and accommodation for the duration or your stay. Volunteers are responsible for all other expenses, including travel to and from program.
Work Days: Sunday - Friday (Half Day); Saturdays off
Arrival Days: New volunteers will need to arrive on Tuesdays
Time Commitment: Minimum 1 week stay on program
Accommodation: Coed dorm style communal living with bunk beds or tents set up in open spaces
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided on every working day. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated, but those with specific dietary needs will need to supplement meals as needed.
WiFi: Wifi is provided on base from Thursday evening through Sunday morning. There are internet options in Hariharpurgadhi rural municipality and simple small data plans for communicating via messages or email with family are readily available. Data plans more suitable for social media can be had for a relatively small amount more. NCELL and NTC are the two data plan options for Hariharpurgadhi. NCELL is currently working better in the area. It is strongly recommended you pick up a Nepal SIM card in Kathmandu prior to joining the program. Data top ups can be purchased in local shops. Please note that the data signal in the area of the base and worksite is weak, and you may not have service consistently.
Access: There is a local market where food can be found in Hariharpurgadhi
