How many participants will there be?
We have invited around 25 volunteers to be on program at any given time. This number will fluctuate with interest and program needs.
Do I need any vaccinations specific to the Nepal Program?
Yes. All volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We also strongly recommend our volunteers consult with a medical professional before traveling. As every individual has their own health needs and levels of acceptable risk, we encourage you to work with your medical professional to decide on the best preventative measures for you. An up-to-date Tetanus vaccination is highly recommended.
Can I leave program early?
We have planned the program with the intention for all participants to remain on the program for the entire duration. However, we understand unexpected circumstances arise and the need to depart the program may occur.
How long should I volunteer for?
Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of one week on our Nepal Program. We encourage you to stay as long as you like, but please note that all volunteers are required to take a 3 day break after 30 days on program. Volunteers are responsible for making their own travel and sleeping accommodations while on break, so please plan accordingly.
Can I join the program at any time?
We accept new volunteer arrivals each Tuesday during the duration of the program. Volunteers are highly encouraged to travel during the day and arrive on base before dark.
Is COVID-19 testing mandatory.
Yes. All staff and volunteers must present a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of your arrival on base. Symptomatic staff and volunteers may also be tested while on program as a precautionary measure.
How do I confirm my spot on program?
All volunteers must complete and application and background check before an invitation will be sent. Once you receive your invitation, you will be asked to complete a waiver to confirm your spot on program.
How do I get to program?
All volunteers are required to arrange their own transportation to and from our Nepal Program. You can find specific information in the “traveling to program” section of this Hub.
