PACKING
Shopping is best done at home, so please come prepared.
Be prepared for any clothing you wear on the work site to get ruined and dirty. Proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a requirement for volunteers. We will be providing beds/cots, but volunteers will need to bring sheets, pillows, blankets, etc. Please see the following lists for required and recommended items:
REQUIRED
Work Boots: These should be sturdy work boots or hiking boots, they must be closed-toe. Puncture-proof soles and steel toe boots are recommended (no Converse or running shoes allowed on site).
A copy of COVID-19 test PCR or Antigen Test taken within 72 hours of arrival
Photo ID/Passport and Vaccination Documentation

Work clothes. We provide short sleeved work shirts but you should bring pants/shorts to work in (Warm and cold weather clothing that can be layered or “shed” throughout the workday)
Long Pants (these may get stained and are required for Mitigation and other work activities)
Bedding - Bunks and mattresses will be provided, but volunteers need to bring their own bedding (bedsheet for the mattress, a blanket/sleeping bag, a pillow)it may be cooler in March)
Extra or thick blankets (it may be cooler in March so blankets are recommended)
Personal cash and ATM/credit card
Travel while wearing a face covering (cloth mask, 3-ply or N-95). We will provide disposable masks while on program.
Personal first aid kit, including any medication e.g. paracetamol, oral rehydration salts, anti-diarrheals, etc. (AHAH cannot/will not provide any medicine to volunteers)
Personal items, toiletries (please consider bringing biodegradable soaps to protect the local environment), and towel.

Go-Bag: a small bag or purse containing an extra week of any personal medication, a snack, bottle of water, extra phone charger, flashlight (if your phone does not have one) and anything else you may need for an emergency evacuation
Vitamins, electrolytes, food supplements, comfort food
Cell phone, Battery pack.
Socks (Wool socks for warmth, protection, water wicking, and their ability to breathe).
Normal clothes (for after work and days off), swim clothes/items for rivers/pools nearby, clothing for hiking
Lightweight jacket or sweater
Shower shoes/flip flops, swimwear
Earplugs and a sleep mask
Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Sun hat
Sharpie (for marking your belongings)
