Consists of five (5) tribal members elected by a majority vote of the qualified tribal members. It acts as the governing body of the Native Village of Kongiganak referred to as the Council or Tribal Council in the Village Constitution (Click here for the copy of "Tribal Consitution & Bylaws").
may enact ordinances to govern its internal procedures and organization and to further define the duties of tribal officers
powers to consult, negotiate, contract, oversee, or conclude agreements with and make recommendations to federal, state, local, and tribal governments on activities that may affect the tribe
promote and protect the peace, health, education, and general welfare of the tribal members and administer services to contribute to the social and economic development of the tribe
administer tribal assets including funds and manage all economic affairs of the tribe, maintain tribal membership roll, etc.
Administrative Offices, IGAP, ICWA and Tribal Court are located on the 2nd floor of the main Safewater buildings and the Laundromat.
