Monitoring Crew 

Personal Conduct

• Be an example to other masjid attendees

• Do not engage in socializing during prayers and khatirah break with each other

• If there is not a great need for monitoring at certain time, seek permission from supervisor to join the jamaah instead

• You are expected to be firm but gentle

• This role require confidence, clear voice and tone. If this can be uncomfortable for you, please let the supervisors know and may Allah SWT reward you for your intentions

General rule of thumb with engaging masjid attendees

• Always approach attendees with a big smile first

• Touch their shoulder to gain their attention, if needed

• Provide suggestions in the best tone of voice

• Upon compliance, thank each one of them with sincere gratitude

Duties Specific to Areas

1) Shoe rack assignment (mainly before salah time)

• Greet every attendee with a smile, salam, wish Ramadan Mubarak, etc.

• Observe if they are placing their shoes on the rack, if they did not, kindly ask them to and explain how it can easily become a hazard.

2) Lobby assignment

• Ensure no children are by themselves. They should be either with their parents (praying in musalla) or babysitting rooms.

• Make rounds on every possible hangouts including stairs and bathrooms to ensure every attendee is respecting the sanctity of Ramadan and Masjid. إن شآء الله

3) Musalla assignment

• By the door: 

  • Stop attendees from bringing food into the musalla. 

  • Remind attendees to turn off or silent their phones. 

  • Direct the attendees to form the line from the middle first and evenly distribute attendees to either side of the line. As for the ladies musolla downstairs, convince the attendees that it is okay to walk in front of other ma'moom in a jama'ah.

• In the musalla: 

  • Walk along the saf back and forth

  • Ensure attendees are filling up gaps and filling up lines in front of them (except for ladies musolla downstairs, the line begins from the back).

  • If there are children that may affect the peace during prayer, you will kindly suggest that the parent pray with their child in the babysitting room.

4) Babysitting Room 

• Assist carrying out babysitting duties as needed and instructed by our main babysitters

• Sign in every child with their parents contact info
