Quran Reading Enrichment (QRE)!!
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'a and teach it." - SAHIH AL-BUKHARI | 5027
We believe the biggest key to Qur'an reading proficiency is all about practice and frequency. However the Qur'anic Program in AHC Learning can only accommodate a limited number of students and our waiting list kept growing. Our teaching resources are limited and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would like to dedicate couple hours in a week to assist youth in the community to gain proficiency with Qur'an - at all levels. Due to the limited placement availability, the program will currently focus on supporting students that attend AHC Learning Program as well as AHC Youth Group.
What's in it for you as prospect teacher?
Although there is a set of preferred time that will be needed, in order to support both AHC Programs, schedule is totally based on your availability. Student pairing is flexible based on teachers' availability. You will have an opportunity to be assessed by Shaykh Houssem Marzouk, AHC Learning Qur'an Program Director, on a 1:1 session and be listed as our qualified Qur'an teachers!
What's in it for the prospect student?
This is a supplemental practice to reinforce the Tajweed Lessons so you can gain fluency and familiarity with Quran at a steady pace. If you are part of the Learning Program, once or twice a week lessons will not allow you to maximize your potential to make real progress. Quran practice should be a daily diet so that you can firm your knowledge through rigorous practice with qualified teachers.

Were you spotted volunteering at one of our AHC events?
Weather is cold, your kids have a week off from school, and you are running out of ideas how to keep them occupied with fun activities? A group of moms in the community decided that volunteering in the masjid collectively with their friends would be a stupendous way of spending meaningful time during school break.
These young men of 11 & 12 year olds wiped down the balcony glass fence, vacuum the stairs, the male musolla area, the ladies area as well as the musolla on second floor. Some climbed up to clean all the windows surrounding the musolla. Dust clean the mimbar, the mihrab and the Quran shelves. The musolla was left spotless by end of Thursday ready for Jumuah Congregation the next day. Aren't you proud of them? Because we certainly are!
At the end of the day, they sat in a circle and get to know one another further. They were reminded of the beautiful act of kindness, and the importance of contributing to the community in any form of charity. When these youth feel great about themselves, they will be inspired to do more!

Handful of the volunteers provided their assistance during the event to raise public health awareness. Volunteers that had medical background were assisting the medical professionals in the community to perform blood pressure screenings and blood glucose check. Others helped with event set up and serving foods. The successful event was led by the AHC Health & Wellness Committee.

There were about 45 volunteers who had shown up to assist with AHC's Annual Fundraising Event. Distributing pledges during jummah, event set up and decoration were done a day prior and volunteers stayed behind despite severe weather to ensure that everything is ready for the event.
Thank you note from our AHC Board President, Ahsan Memon:
Assalamu’alaykum warahmatullah,
First and foremost, we would like to thank Allah SWT for the recent success of our 2022 Annual Fundraising Event. The event’s success was truly a display of our unity and love for His house, walhamdulillah.
I would like to just take a moment to reflect on how amazing it was to see our youth alongside the adults, working tirelessly despite the severe weather we had on Friday, to ensure the event was set up, organized and carried out from beginning until the cleaning done, were done with greatest level of ihsaan. The volunteers pretty much filled every space in every corner with their different duties; parking/security, food set up and distributions, the beautiful decorations, speediness of how everything were brought up and taken down is a sight that cannot be overlooked.
On behalf of AHC Leadership and the volunteer committee, we would like to thank you and we are truly blessed to have each one of you in the community. We pray that Allah SWT blessed your family and your time and reward you all accordingly.
Jazakumullahu khayran katheera!
