Student ID Cards
Student ID Cards are a very important safety and security feature for entering and exiting AIS-R's campus as well as for checking out materials and making purchases. Students will receive ID cards to be carried with them at all times. If a student does not have their ID Card when entering AIS-R campus, they will be permitted to enter/exit campus, however, they will need to complete a Google Form at the gates. The Google Form will record that a student is missing or forgot their ID and will automatically send an email to parents informing them that the ID Card was not brought to school. On the 4th occasion that an ID Card is not brought to school, students will be escorted to the HS Office and parents will be called. Students will have a detention until their ID Card is brought to school or is replaced, if lost. To begin the process of creating a new ID Card if lost, students need to go to the Admissions/Finance Office and lost RFID cards will be replaced for a fee of 115 SR. The Student ID Card also serves as the student’s library card and Dining Hall card. No student may use another student's ID Card to checkout materials or to make purchases. If a student uses another student's ID Card, they will immediately go to the HS Office and parents will be called to discuss further consequences such as detention and financial repayments.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are only permitted before and after school, during lunch and during breaks. Students are not permitted to use their phones during classes, flextime and assemblies unless given explicit instructions by a teacher that it can be used as a learning tool for a specific learning activity. Students may keep their phones in their lockers or, at their own risk, in the phone pockets provided in each classroom.
Laptop Computers
All High School students are required to have a laptop computer everyday. Beginning in the 2025/2026 school year, all HS students will be required to have a MacBook Laptop.
Reading Books
In addition to normal materials and resources for classes, HS students are also required to have a physical reading book with them for Eagle Citizenship Advisory during Flextime on Sundays and for some independent reading time during certain classes. If students do not have their own, physical book to read, they are able to checkout a book from the MS/HS Learning Commons.
Lockers
All High School students will be issued with a locker at the beginning of the school year. The locker number is recorded with the HS Office.
Students are not permitted to exchange or share lockers, which are secure, private spaces
Students must never share their combination with anyone, nor use another person’s locker; students must keep lockers in good condition
Students are responsible for anything found in the locker they were allocated at the beginning of the year. The High School Leadership Team reserves the right to inspect personal effects including bags, phones and lockers, and assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage of any property placed within the lockers
Students are responsible for any unreported damage to their locker
Bags are not to be left in the hallways or unattended anywhere on campus. The school will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen bags/backpacks, etc. left unattended at any time. Students are highly encouraged to leave the bags/backpacks in their lockers or in a locked location.
In addition, because absolutely no phones, learning materials, or bags, etc are allowed into the examination halls and assembly areas, students must use their lockers during the PSAT, semester examinations, IBDP mock examinations, IBDP examinations, and whole and grade-level assemblies to store bags, learning materials, notebooks and mobile phones.
Physical Education (PE) Locker Room Expectations
There are to be no personal items taken into or stored in the PE locker rooms. This includes, but is not limited to, phones, wallets, computers and bags. All of these valuables must be stored in student-allocated locked lockers prior to arriving for PE class. Students will not be given additional time to take these items to their lockers. The only bags allowed in the PE locker rooms are those that contain PE clothes and toiletries. The school will not be held responsible for any of the above lost or stolen items in the PE locker rooms. Locker rooms may only be used during PE and athletics practice.
End of Year Procedures
Students will make all payments for school resources not returned by the end of the academic year directly to the Finance Office. Students are required to bring a printout of the invoice sent to them from the AIS-R Resource Room (ARC) for lost books and any other invoices they have received for missing items. The Finance Office will then provide a receipt for students who make payments, which they are required to keep in case the system is not updated within 24 hours. Failure to return resources or make payments for missing items will result in the student’s PowerSchool access being blocked until payment is received in full.
**Students are solely responsible for the items checked out to their name. Returning a resource that is checked out in another student’s name does not absolve a student from paying replacement costs for the materials in their name that are not returned.**
