ACT tests math, reading, science and English. The test is scores on a range from 1-36. Colleges have various score requirements for entrance. Students can register for the ACT online at act.org
The TSI test is required to enroll at any college. The scores are not used to admit students only to assist students in taking classes. The test determines if students are college ready in math and English. Students must score a 950 on Math or between a 910-949 with a diagnostic of 6 in math. For English, students must score a 945 with an essay of 5-8 or a score of 910 with a diagnostic of 5-6 and an essay of 5-8. The TSI is given monthly at AHS. In order to register students must complete the Pre Assessment Activity (PAA). To access the PAA, the student must create an account for the Practice APP if one has not already been created. You can create this account at https://practice.accuplacer.org/login. After successfully logging in, the student will select TSIA2-PAA and access the PAA. The student will select “Begin Pre-Assessment Activity” to proceed Step 1. Check Agreement Statement. Start. At the end, the Student will receive a certificate. You will need to print the certificate and bring it to A113 or email it to ckemp@aisd.net
Once that is complete, you will receive an email to the email address you provided with the link to sign up for the test.
