(Advisors: Please project these instructions for all students to follow.)
Check your WiFi Settings:
Open System Settings and click on "WiFi" in the left-side menu.
Under "Known Networks" click on the 3-dot circle to the right of each known network and make sure AIS Google is the ONLY WiFi network with a checkmark next to "Auto-Join".
Run the Device Check:
Scan the QR Code on the left, or go to bit.ly/MAPTECH on the device you will use for testing.
Click on "Check Your Device" and follow the instructions
If the device PASSES the check, skip to #3 below (practice tests).
If your device FAILS the check, go back to the Tech Support page and click on "Set Up Your MacBook" to resolve any errors that were flagged in the tech check. Once errors are resolved and the device has passed the tech check, move on to the Practice Tests and complete what you can in the time remaining.
NOTE TO STUDENTS: Spare iPads for testing will ONLY be available to students who were (a) absent on this setup day, or (b) have a device failure mid-test. If you forget or simply choose not to take the necessary steps to prepare your device for testing, you will not be able to test and will have to make up the time after school on a make-up day.
You MAY also bring your own iPad for MAP Testing--please follow the iPad Setup Instructions before test day. (NOTE: You will have to manually download the NWEA MAP app from the App Store.)
3. Complete 2 Practice Tests:
On the log in screen of the NWEA MAP app, tap "try the Practice Test".
Log in; the username and password are both "grow" (all lowercase).
Follow the instructions to login and complete at least 2 practice tests (approx. 5 questions each) at your grade level.
4. Email techsupport@ais.edu.hk if you need additional help.
Students who need to update their OS will have to do so at home!
Send the names and student ID numbers of anyone who needs to update their OS to CIT@ais.edu.hk for follow up.
ALL students should be using the Secure Testing Browser - do not allow any student to use the web version for ANY reason.
Please monitor students carefully during setup and testing to ensure test security.
You don't need the Proctor Dashboard today!
But please review the proctoring instructions and script on your own BEFORE the first day of testing.
Message us in the HS MAP Google Chat if you need help! Someone will come to your room or respond in the chat ASAP.
