ES MAP Set Up Instructions

ES Testing Plan

G1, G3, and G4 will begin testing on Tuesday. G2 will begin as soon as G1 is done.
- Every class MUST test for 1 period every day until your class is finished with all tests.
- Each grade level should test in the same period each day, but you can vary periods from day-to-day to fit your schedule (e.g., Monday is P3, Tuesday is P6, Wednesday is P1, etc.)
- Enter your schedule on this spreadsheet.
- Please don't skip any days
G1/G2 ONLY: Please make sure your classroom iPads and headphones have been delivered to the teacher sharing them before testing starts.
- 2C iPads/headphones go to 1A to start (1A return iPads/headphones to 2C when complete)
- 2S iPads/headphones go to 1F to start (1F return iPads/headphones to 2S when complete)
- 2I iPads/headphones go to 1M to start (1M return iPads/headphones to 2I when complete)
Use the ES MAP Google Chat to get help! Please do NOT email or direct message any of the CIT Team, as we will not be actively monitoring those.
- We will only be actively monitoring the chat during times when a grade level is scheduled to test, so make sure you fill in the schedule!
- Be as clear and detailed in your message as possible--often we can help via chat faster than we can get to your classroom.
- Check back in the chat to see if anyone has had the same issue and gotten help already--often the same problems recur frequently!
Kathy will check and update test assignments at the end of each day.

You will not need to be logged in to the MAP Proctor Dashboard for set up.
Distribute iPads to each student. G1/G2 will also need to distribute headphones.
Have students open the NWEA MAP app on their iPad.
- If the app will not launch (white screen or flickering screen), first try restarting the iPad. Once the device restarts, try launching the app again.
- If restarting the iPad does not solve the problem, try reinstalling the app from the Manager app using (Step 1 of these set up steps). Then try launching the app again.
- If that does not work, report the problem in the ES MAP chat and someone will come to assist.
Once students have successfully launched the NWEA MAP app, help them log in and complete AT LEAST 1 practice test.
- Instructions for accessing practice tests can be found HERE.
- G1 & G2 students will need headphones for testing (practice tests included).
- Note that the process for logging in to the practice tests has one extra step--you must tap on the "Try the Practice Test" link FIRST.
- The purpose of having students take a practice test is so they can see how the test platform works, NOT to practice content. Please don't skip this step!

G3 and G4 Students should NOT need to update their iOS to run the NWEA MAP app.

If the app will not launch, help students follow the iPad Set Up steps to complete necessary updates.

ALL students should be using the NWEA MAP app - do not allow any student to use the web version for ANY reason.

Please monitor students carefully during setup and testing.

You don't need the Proctor Dashboard today!

But please review the proctoring instructions and script on your own BEFORE the first day of testing.

Keep an eye on the ES MAP Google Chat!

If you are having trouble, first check if your question has been answered--if not, explain the issue in the chat.

Someone will respond with instructions or come to your room ASAP.
